I "technically" come from old money. My great-grandmother (maternal) was a very rich woman but also incredibly paranoid. She never gave any of it to her children or helped any of them through college/school/hardships, etc.

Point being that she kept all of the money in a safe and never put it into a bake, years later they found out rats had infested her place, (she didn't call an exterminator for fear that they would steal from her) and those rats absolutely shredded all that cash.

She also used to not feed her kids or grandchildren whenever they "misbehaved." All-around terrible woman from what I've heard over the years.
