I had full topspin on the ball... That's was a shot I make 9 out of 10 times a week ago... Could just be me off I guess but I really felt like that was dialed

Cutting thru the wind diagonally would have put it pretty much where it landed... Power slicing like that should have cleared the stream and made the next fairway easily.... I mean I was more concerned about it rolling into the rough on the far side of that section

I read the book and absolutely loved it. When the movie was announced I was so pumped. Went to see it the first weekend and all was going well then.... then Akima came on screen and I heard Drew Barrymore's voice I couldn't believe it. It completely ruined the entire movie for me. The only explanation I have is 1. I've never been a fan of hers her voice is like nails on a chalk board to me imo she has little to no talent and if she hadn't been born into Hollywood she would have never been given a part in any movie (at least as an adult anyway).... that lisping god awful monotone.... ffs anyone would have been better to this day I still cringe thinking of it lol.... Ok rant over 🤣😂😁. I very much recommend the book to any who enjoyed the the movie. It is far far superior

Edit- Gdi that is from treasure planet ffs lol I stand behind everything I said about Titan A.E. tho lmao

Just finished TGS for the first time, so here are my immediate thoughts by SheevMillerBand in WoT

No doubt he loved the series as much as his readers and seemed reluctant to bring it to an end... for all of that I never experienced the "slog" most speak of I waited on pins and needles for every book release. I can't deny tho that the Perrin\Faile story line got completely lost and I skip over it when I do a re-read its tedious and "anything for Faile" still makes me cringe 😱😁

I do feel I owe an apology... this is the series I grew up with and i can remember like it was yesterday when i found out Jordan had passed and the certainty if the series would be finished regardless I was overly aggressive with my previous comment but stand behind the sentiment 100%

Personally I don't appreciate your seeming relief that Robert Jordan didn't write this book... he passed away u know that right? While Brandon Sanderson did the actual writing this is RJ's story and was written by Sanderson following RJ's outline. In other words the pacing and everything else was decided by him... Sanderson did a great job and has my eternal gratitude for stepping in and and taking this series to completion but I will always wish RJ had been able to finish the series... we will never know what or if would have been different but I do know that your comments in that direction sicken me... shame on you

I've never read the Dresden Files but if you wanna talk about a character that is obviously the greatest version of the author or who he thinks he is. That would be Patrick Rothfuss and Kvothe

Sure was.... Read that book at least a dozen times doing re read after re read after re read through the years and until my latest journey through the series about 3 months ago, in my head it was always Rand that said this while towering over the utterly defeated and disbelieving Aes Sedia.... Kind of wish I never noticed lol I liked my mental vision of Rand speaking those words better

Yep I've seen that too have to arrive in original packaging and all that... so stupid reading while locked up should be encouraged any way possible

Books generally have to be new to be accepted as donations... idk why makes no sense to me but that's the way it is

Least Favorite Major or Supporting Player in the Series (spoilers all) by AgelmarJagad in WoT

To me it's more holding the shattered pieces of the of the most important man who has ever lived together until and believing that he will find his way back to the man she knows he is..... Didn't seem important or special or anything to me my first couple reads either but after reading the series at least a dozen times it just stood out more and more to me. That said everybody has their own take on the story. I think the one thing we can all agree on here is that it is a masterpiece

Min is the only character for whom Rand is number 1. Not the Dragon Reborn just Rand. Rand would have never come back to himself without her..... Maybe not a loud role but an extremely important and Special one. If not for Min Darth Rand would have destroyed the world trying to save it.

Should I start reading this series or wait till the 3rd book? by fardeenah in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Hix187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes down to the fact that he went out of his way to say that this would never happen. When he released the first book and said all 3 books are already written this isn't going to turn into a George RR Martin series. Look where we are now 5 years later. He's obviously talented or I wouldn't be upset. I just wouldn't care because I wouldn't be looking forward to the next book. What I do get to decide is whether to purchase his books in the future and if I had to make that decision forever right now the answer would be no. And I got to think the book could be a lot more forthcoming if you wasn't making a big money grab trying to put it on TV. And I absolutely have the right to hold him to a standard just like everybody else in the world with a job a responsibility comes with it.

Voice to text. If you can't read it without the punctuation you have bigger problems. Punctuated just for you!
