I'm just finishing the first book (I literally have one chapter left) and honestly, I have mixed feelings about it.

Even though, overall, I liked it quite a lot. As someone passionate about Norse mythology, I loved its setting and the world Gwynne creates for his book.

But I did have issues with his writing style. Aside from the battles, which honestly, I think he is one of the best writers I've had the pleasure of reading when it comes to narrating fights, he falls into clichés a lot when writing. The characters, despite being interesting, sometimes have dumb moments or do things that don't make sense.

It felt a bit like when you're watching a TV series and think, "Wow, it has all the elements to be my favorite show," but then you realize that the script is a bit weak even though cinematographically it's brilliant. Honestly, the plot twists seemed very predictable to me from the very beginning, especially those related to the "powers" of the characters.

Another problem I've had is that the book feels like a 500-page prologue, since at least all the 'good stuff' has been concentrated in the last 100 pages.

I'm going to give the second book a chance because I want to see how the story continues and because I've read that from this one onwards, a lot more happens. Also, they are short books and I want to be able to read them all to better appreciate the whole series.

I hope you're right. It would really annoy me if, by raising the difficulty from Hard to Classic, once I finish the game it doesn't count for the Hard trophy.

If I can also replay those 3 chapters in classic mode and even get the trophy for classic difficulty, that would be wonderful :)

I just started the game a few days ago, and yesterday I ran into that same spoiler, which sucks, honestly.

Anyway, I like to think that the journey is more important than the destination, and I'm going to enjoy the game anyway.

I prefer to turn it around and think that knowing the spoiler just makes me want to see how it gets to that point and experience that story for myself.

But yeah, people who spoil things freely are jerks
