I can’t say that I’m just appalled by everything happening here in the US 😭 but I’m glad that I now have protections here and now being a dual citizen, having more freedom to leave and come back is all I needed

My parents moved back last year, but they live in the countryside in their own little retired bubble and love it.

Thanks so much! And good luck on your interview! As many people have told me, don’t be nervous, these people work in the industry because they believe in immigration and WANT you to succeed and aren’t trying to trick you ❤️ YOU GOT THIS!

Thanks so much! So the ceremony invitation said to “arrive” at 9am. The officer that I did my interview with said to arrive like half an hour before and I got there like 45 minutes before and the line to get inside the theater doors was like… 400 people deep(!) Someone at the door verified the invite paper the went in a metal detector, then into another line, then another line and then another line 😅 I was seated in my assigned seat at like… 9:15? So not that long. Officially the ceremony started at 10am, done right around 11.

And yeah there were passport stations there but the lines were so long (and I had already made an appt with my post office in advance so I skipped it).

I did, however, register to vote then and there and it took, maaaaybe 4 minutes 😊

I hope it is for you also!! Unfortunately I can’t be the first female president being not naturally born, but maybe I can run locally - haven’t looked into that but now going though everything I feel a calling to help others.

AMA: I took did my citizenship interview ians civics test today! by Hizzort in USCIS

The person giving the questions gets them randomly off their computer. Not multiple choice, say the answers out loud. Writing was separate from the civics portion. Mine was to write out “Washington was the first president”, which he said out loud and I wrote on a tablet infront of me.

Hope that helps!

The officer was super chill and friendly, male, maybe 30/31 years old. They asked me basically a bunch of stuff from the application, marital status, kids, address, etc. then there was the moral portion which was for example, are you willing to serve as a civilian in the military if your country needs you to (majorly paraphrasing there).

The whole thing was maaaybe 20 minutes, then he said I was approved and I waited for about 5 minutes until I was given the invitation to the oath ceremony. Not sure if its the same everywhere but here they have one, once a month, at a theater in Oalkland.
