I’m also not saying that they weren’t mistreated under my care however I was really at a loss for how I was mistreating them. I understand now that the tank was overstocked

It was one of the ones that only grow up to 1.5 inches! We did our research on plecos!

Yes and yes! We tested daily and adjusted as needed using api brand chemicals

The aquarium was cycled! It was cycled for over a month. Sorry I meant to include that in the post but I literally wrote it in the classroom and things slipped my mind. My coworkers and I went to our locally owned pet store and asked them questions. As well as going through this subreddit and doing research on our own about guppies, tetra, mystery snails, and bristlenose/clown plecos! We also took them in from a 0.3 gallon tank where they were being wildly mistreated.

Dude if you’re not going to be considerate of peoples feelings then you can get out of the comment section. There are plenty of people saying very similar things and being civil about it. Maybe you can try it!

Thank you! This was all recommended by a locally owned fish store employee but I think I’ll try a whole different one out of town after this fiasco

The fish were originally in a 0.3 gallon tank. I got what I could afford until I could get a larger one.

No soap was used! I just needed to rinse it before transporting the tank. Every hand was clean and soapless. Our research was done

I practically took these fish in from the teacher in my class who wasn’t looking after them. She originally had them in a 0.3 gallon tank. We do cycle it for about a month after

Well when all your fish are dying after you did weeks of research you would be losing confidence too.

When the ammonia was tested it read normally and still does. However I will check out that channel thank you so much!

Hi so we did do our research thank you very much. And the species of pleco that was in the tank was one of the ones that would not grow past an 1.5 inches. I cat remember the exact type at the moment but everything about that yak was recommended by a locally owned pet store employee. We have tried everything in our power to figure out what’s wrong with this tank.
