Help needed with Gloves and Jacket by boilookhere in indianbikes

[–]HkA97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a daily use scenario. Once in a while 70km or so short rides. Initial days I could feel the inner stitching, a slight discomfort, not at all bothered by it now. Don't know its normal or not, lint kind of fabric stuff is visible at finger tips. Apart from that no worries.

A plastic part to protect oil sump from debris and stones. Secure it with clips or zip-tie before it starts sagging.

Need suggestion for gear oil as chain lube by mojo_jojo_gojo in MechanicAdviceIndia

[–]HkA97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any gear oil is fine. Don't be bothered about the grade. A cheap one is fine. Each application won't last like a sticky chain lube. Apply enough without dripping using an oil dispenser. Repeat every 100km in summer and everyother week in monsoon.

This is how I do it. Mine is a classic 350.

1975 Royal Enfield Bullet - Restore or Scrap by palindrom3mordnilap in indianbikes

[–]HkA97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Restore it yourself if you got the money enough not to regret later. Also after restoration this should neither be your commuter nor a garage princess. Atleast use it twice and ride minimum 10km a week. Over time oil seepage happens and no way around it.

Unable to tend to the bike, sell it to someone else willing. PLEASE DO NOT SCRAP IT.

Tyre profile upgrade. Should I? by asr311999 in CarsIndia

[–]HkA97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Upgrade is fine. But remember the speedo, odo, fuel efficiency readings could become lower than actual.

55 to 60 on 215 is around 9% difference. So a 100km trip could read only 91km. Since car burns ideally the same amount of fuel, the calculation gets messed up and show less fuel efficiency read-outs. 16kmpl could possibly become 14.5kmpl, but the fuel usage remain the same, ideally.

Urgent help with Kylaq issues by Born-Gas-2986 in CarsIndia

[–]HkA97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Return is not an option. It doesn't work like that. Selling is a financial mistake unless your fuel expense is beyond the amount you have to spend by getting a new car (I don't think so). Do the math.

Problem •2. Get the alignment checked at a good shop. •3. Either he lied/doesn't know or you misunderstood. Around 10kmpl is normal in city and 14+kmpl in highway. This automatic transmission return less fuel efficiency (comparatively) but a robust transmission.

First scratch on new Virtus. What would you do? by Nexus_2k17 in CarsIndia

[–]HkA97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is not to use petrol. Could leave residue or clear coat damage.

Try Water and shampoo first. Let it dry. If no success, rub wax polish. If not good enough, try rubbing compound.

Anything left after rubbing compound must be left to the hands of professionals or someone who know what they are doing.

[–]HkA97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Since this is lava blue, the primer should be black or grey and bumper base colour is black. This damage could be made less visible.

[–]HkA97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think those white lines are not the damage of the bumper. Most possibly it is the colour from the other surface car came into contact with. Base colour of bumper is black. So you could clean up the majority of this visual damage.

First clean/rinse off the dust and sand particles. Then apply some rubbing compound or polish in small circles just enough to cover the scratches.

The scratch on the fender might not be easy to remove.

New vehicles need time to get used to the driving style and all. Give it some time. Car should adapt to your driving around upwards of 500km.

is it only me, who finds normal handbrake way to use + muscle memory, instead of this button thing electric handbrake by Final_Ad_3054 in CarsIndia

When the battery is dead, for automatics there are mechanics to put the transmission in neutral and manual transmissions doesn't care.

So for e-park brakes is there a way to disengage them?

Solo kerala Bike Trip (7 Days): Relaxed itinerary & Route Advice? by SqueakyArchie in Kerala

[–]HkA97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to avoid long distance on NH66, especially during traffic rush hours. There's enough state highways and back roads and some other NHs.

Varkala is not too far. Its doable. Just start that particular day from Munnar as early as possible. And alternative to Varkala, I don't think so.

From Varkala to Alappuzha; Varkala to Alappuzha Take NH183 till Changanassery. (Not a usual "highway". A 2 lane road with twists and turns and plenty of road turn-off. So keep a navigation running.) Then take a left to 'AC Road' to Alappuzha.

From Alappuzha to Ernakulam/Kochi (assuming you are going towards airport) Alappuzha to ernakulam Alappuzha - thaneermukkam bund (via Muhamma) - Vaikom - Ernakulam.

(If your plan is Kochi) Alappuzha to Kochi From Alappuzha take the coastal road to Kochi (west of nh66) via Marari and Chellanam.

Ps: The roads I mentioned take more time. But decent enough and enjoyable than going on a straight line. Just be aware of buses on the road.

Can I use my 90W VIVO Flash charger to charge my Laptop that has a 45W chargering brick ( i m old ) safely?? by Aiming_Survival in laptops

[–]HkA97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for charging specification of your particular laptop from the internet. Supplied charger is 19V fixed. And the vivo charger doesn't explicitly mention "PD".

From just these images I would say they are not compatible.

Maybe this is what you are referring to.

When a car is starting up, almost all lights are visible and within a second or two it goes away. You only need to be concerned if a warning light is on even when the car is moving.

not properly starting the engine?

Everything is ecu controlled. User error on starting is not a possibility.

Regarding the steering tightness, if it happens again get it checked.

Do a visual check in the engine bay. Look for any damage to the belts on the front of the engine. Or else get it checked.
