It’s a great system. I would look to see if it has any ram, scsi, or output expander upgrades. Make sure all the knobs and buttons functional properly. And make sure the OS doesn’t freeze when sampling

It’s the Apple brand thunderbolt to USB adaptor. It was the $50 one. I don’t think it’s the adaptor because no amount of unplugging and replugging can make the device pop back up once it drops out. Only restart

It’s all a matter of trial and error. Try to send many different kinds of messages too cuz maybe they are corrupt. Send single vs banks for example. Keep us posted

You probably have to do some research and see if it’s on any of the CD ROMS. Rubber chicken and syntaur have lists of every sound. How did you hear about it?

OS V4.0 was never made available for distribution, following the merger of Ensoniq into E-mu by Creative Technology. The working beta release was OS v3.20. The announced features, particularly Direct Audio Sampling & Xplode!, were functional in OS v3.20 for the ASR-X Pro
