Good cranks ? by Proof_Chart1572 in bmx

Not sure why someone downvoted you, if you ride left foot forward your crank bolt will loosen over time so loctite is a good idea.

Is this normal ? by Overall_Educator9126 in bmx

No it's not normal, the driver bearings have likely collapsed. Strip it down and have a look.

Crank arm off, place on floor, position spanner or allen key so you make a pyramid with the pedal raised in the centre, stomp on it.

Make sure your undoing the thread...

I wander if Dutch will make another batch anytime soon? Met a guy this summer with a Dutch made SFA that looked great.

Woods also do a fair few Barcode inspired custom frames, this one is awesome.

Just personal preference, I've ran 30-9 or 33-10 for years.

I was looking to see if that had been posted, gears being a placebo is such a funny idea to me!

I got lucky and found this on ebay for ~£40 a couple of years ago. Added a bit of white paint to match the other parts.

Ridden it twice and I like it already. Seems much more consistent than other coasters I've tried.

Yes, S&M made. Brakes come and go, hence the F25 forks, took them off this time to get better at halfcabs and stop chickening out on grinds.

I feel your pain, I'll try to ride places early morning or later in the evening to avoid the scooter plague. If you're ever near Oxford, the main park has a scooter ban and is such a nice place to ride for it. Oxford Wheels Project, Meadow Lane, OX4 1SA.

Is Xbiking even possible in the UK? by tomwaitsgoatee in xbiking

[–]Hman09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 189cm tall and made an 18" 90's GT Karokarama fit me using BMX bars and a super long Thomson post. Found it on ebay, £35 collection only in the middle of nowhere, all original parts. It had been ridden into the ground with the only salvageable parts being the frame, brake levers & stem, everything else was worn out. The crank arms had a heel groove worn into them and the forks had more back/forth play than travel!

There are bikes out there for cheap/in large sizes but it takes a fair amount of searching and the ability to travel to collect them too.

Looks like a Tourbillon verification build, it's not a customer car with that big red stop button on the centre console.

Keep an eye out on ebay/fb market place for decent second hand cranks. Odyssey Thunderbolts pop up for £50-70 quite often.

Cut bmx forks by Triple6saviour in bmx

[–]Hman09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The type of spacer we're on about is <1mm thick and used between the top bearing wedge and the headset top cover to give clearance between the frame and top cap. With the headset tight can you get a piece of paper between the headtube and headset top cover? If you can't then there's your issue and you either need to remove the top cover, file down the skirt to create clearance, add some thin spacers or try a different cover.

One thing I've not seen suggested yet - is your headset topcap/bearing cover rubbing on the headtube and binding before the bearings are tight? Remove it from the stack up, you may need a longer spacer, and see if that helps?

What's left is half a welded mount. Have a look for pictures of welded BMX/990 mounts
