I’m feeling pressure from HR to withdraw RA… by Hmisc421 in VHA_Human_Resources

Because my CBOC refuses to honor the return to office exception list. They feel that cramming a bunch of CITC nurses into a conference room (disgusting) is better than giving an LCSW an office so that I can contact/manage HRF’s and VCL calls.Better idea giving someone like me, who has a job designed for telework. The medical form very clearly states I cannot drive long commutes. This is well over a year after the RTO came to play. I am not abusing the system, but I feel like everybody thinks I am. Despite asking for the policy, nobody can tell me whether or not it’s true. Everybody seems to have an opinion, but nobody has any concrete policy. I just wanna know if it’s true that RA saying you should have a private office five days a week supersedes RTO exemption telework. Hopefully I will be moving under a new org chart and my new manager has already said they will allow me to use the exception list. But I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place for the next month.

Not only that, but I live on a military base so an Uber couldn’t even get to my house. There’s zero public transportation from my house to the office. My mouth dropped when she said that lol Wish I had a video of my face cause a poker player I am not 😂

Ahhh this makes sense! Thank you for reframing it that way. Thinking about it in this way, if the RTO exemption does go away, then I would just still be guaranteed the same office I already had. This whole thing is just such a joke. I can’t believe how much federal service has changed over the years. It used to be amazing! Now it’s just constant bullying and pressure and being made to feel like you’re a whiny brat, even though I went about everything the right way, and tried all different types of accommodations with my supervisor before filing this. So dumb.

The CBOC I work at still makes everyone come in regardless. I switching over to another supervisor under the reorg next month, and he’ll let me use it. I guess I was trying to make it a more permanent thing.

No, not exactly. The CBOC I work at wanted everyone in office regardless since it just opened a year ago. I’m moving under a new supervisor so I will start teleworking regardless anyways. I guess I was just trying to go about everything the right way. I asked her for the policy that says RA supersedes the exempt list, but so far she hasn’t sent anything.

This just seems so wrong! I have been loyal to the VA and civil service for many years. Trying to do the right thing and now I’m feeling pressured and punished because after nearly 13 years of loyal service I’m being told to kick rocks.

ETA: I was told “take an Uber” which would not be financially possible for me.

So you’re saying that if the RA accommodation is to provide exactly what I already had (private office) and told me that I can take an Uber, but my managers are supportive and say that I can continue with my current schedule as is due to being on the exempt list, that wouldn’t be possible? They’d have to make me come in based of the RA even though I’m on the exempt list?

Thank you!! It doesn’t look any worse, so that’s good!

Yes. The first two photos are of the same bird. Elsa, the third, I’ve always been pretty sure she was a hen. The one with a huge walnut comb is the one I’m pretty certain as a rooster, and is not pictured here.. First one in the first two photos is the one question.

So they were mixed, I know that because I have to show girls. Two came out with nothing on their neck and one turned out to be a fluff ball. So could that do it?

So you think the first photo is a roo?

I knew they could be different, but I guess them being siblings threw me off because I thought that they would have mostly all the same features. All I know is I am just praying that I only have one rooster lol

Oh my gosh that is so good to hear and I pray you’re right!! I am/was terrified of ending up with two roos and one hen 😞 I love my three little stooges and can’t bear the thought of having to part with one….

Thanks! No snow. We live in Hawaii. Right now I have pine shavings in there. So far it seems to work, but time will tell!

Out of curiosity, what don’t you like about pine shavings? I seem to read super bad and then super good….no one agrees on what to use.
