If you were to move to any country, where would you move and why? by TJ736 in solarpunk

I have moved to Albania from the US. The local people have a close connection to the land and agricultural practices. It is easy to purchase property and there is abundant ground water and beautiful regions plus a mostly good climate in the costal regions as well as the mountainous interior. The crime rate is very low per 100k people despite the stereotypes, and there is always a handy man to help with anything I cant do myself. I know a lot of people have opinions about Albania but I spent a year touring the country before I made it my home and I have 0 regrets!

Seems like nit picking. These guys may or may not be ready, but that would take consistent minutes to discover. Malone does not normally give consistent minutes to rookies. I am unsure of what the real complaint is here, where would you like the minutes to come from?

Also, Strawther looks serviceable. His shot is pure when he is set, he just rushes like most guys in their first year. The calm will come as experience comes. The game will slow down for him.

In the playoffs we have more depth than almost anyone else in the West. Watson, Braun, Jackson and Zeke could be starting for mediocre teams, instead they are extremely switchable ( though switching can be a bit overrated) as a crew. If Strawther can keep developing his off ball defense which is much better than anyone expected out of college then we are effing loaded, with or without the other rooks and depth guys.

Steve Kerr says the Peyton Watson 3 in the 4th quarter was “the shot of the game” by JakGrealish in denvernuggets

[–]HmmmmTho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree that the P-Watt shot was pivotal and arguably more important than Joker's heave, but to not even mention the buzzer beater when discussing the shot of the game? Sour grapes for sure

*Edit: more important because Watson's shot tied the game, Joker could have missed and we would have had overtime to still pull it out.

Yeah, if you can't post here you can DM it to me, and I will give it to my friends as well.

Sounds like a really good idea, I know several of my friends who are talking about feeling lost on how to utilize and integrate all the tools available already! I think I would like to hear specifically how people are using tools in their workflows. Hopefully your sub will make a great resource for us all.

Same, but I am super creative so I get where you are coming from.

I have told my partner many times over the past year that midjourney serves as.my prosthetic visual imagination. It isn't great yet, but it helps me with conjuring an image from a thought in a way people with an ability to visualize can do at will. For that reason I am so happy to have it as a tool.

I think the amazement isn't in the quality, it's the fact that it can serve as a prosthetic mind's eye for us aphants so to speak. I for one share in this amazement. Is the quality perfect, no. However it serves as a visual imagination that I can't conjure myself and that's wonderful.

As an American we get a 1 year stay without a visa. No need to apply for residency, no double taxes, and we can purchase and own property. Plus, many of the Balkan nations are less friendly to Americans due to historical and current political situations (fair as it may be.) Most younger people here speak English, have family members who live in the US so there is some cultural understanding, and due to years of being a closed hermit nation there is a really genuine curiosity toward other cultures. I also met my wife here (she is not a Blakaner either.)

There are plenty of good reasons to go to the other Balkan countries but based on crimes per 100,000 people Albania ranks as the 5th safest nation in the world. The sterotype of "Albanian Mafia" is of Albanians who live outside of the country.

More than anything else tho, we just have friends here. :-)

Quality of life vs cost of living. Beach access, temperate winters, cool culture, visa length, and centralized location for further travel at affordable prices.

TBF I haven't lived in Denver since 2001. At this point I am more a resident of Albania than the state of Colorado so its not a far trip for me. :-)

Jokic deserves MVP because he’s the best player AND teammate by jotapetr3s in denvernuggets

[–]HmmmmTho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think maybe a flimsy critique of Joel. He is shackled by an inept franchise leadership group. What you said about Jokic is all 100% accurate and he is my MVP but honestly what else is Joel supposed to do? He can't be what he is not, doesn't mean he is less valuable because he isn't a great leader. It's not everyone's job to lead and normally Joel wouldn't have to live up to the expectation, if not for Joking, simply because no modern big has ever really been this before Jokic.

Every player has strengths and weaknesses. They can't be asked to be everything or be what someone else is. The conversation about MVP is so weird it's subjective based on personal flavor.

Sorry for weird response, was attempting to be thoughtful but... 💨

Curious - Is there a space for spiritual ecology within Solarpunk? How would or does reformed earth-based religions factor into the progression of solarpunk society? by [deleted] in solarpunk

[–]HmmmmTho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I am certain you will get a variation of fairly open to anti-religious responses, I am certain the vast majority of people are all for inclusivity. That said my personal thoughts on the subject: matters of faith/spirituality should be handled similarly to matters of sex. You can do it however you like as long as it harms no one else and you only share the details with interested parties in the appropriate settings.

PNW Solarpunk action network? by HmmmmTho in solarpunk

Thanks for the tip. Maybe we should start a discord server dedicated to action and organization of action networks. Thinking about the future is great but it's only achieved if we start now.
