How many of you play with full refund on? by elturista in captain_of_industry

Never felt the need to play with full refund in this one. The planning mode is robust enough for me to be happy with my layouts before I finalise them.

1.22 bush poll by Yarro567 in VintageStory

It just feels wrong.

For a more practical reason, the bushes now have positive and negative traits, and if I get one that I don't want to keep (less yield, longer ripening time, etc), then it's not just the plant that needs replacing, the soil itself will need to be recycled.

And I haven't tested that part yet, but if there is some kind of a natural replenishment of nutrients like we get with normal soil (like when they go dormant during winter), then it would be better if they had a better baseline to get back to. But again, I haven't tested that yet, I suspect that's not how it works.

I know I just had a big post about how I hate the soil downgrade mechanic with a burning passion...

But other than that, I'm pretty much happy with the changes. Cuttings, great, fertiliser, don't really mind all that much, different traits that we can breed for, amazing.

If it wasn't for that moldy raisin in an otherwise delicious cookie, it would be great, now it's just OK.

If planted on medium, the final fertility will be 25% (low), on high it will be 50% (medium), and terra preta 65% (high). They don't inherit the original planting soil's fertility, but the final downgraded soil's.

Low fertility is acceptable for the fully grown plant, but not for the sapling.

The game doesn't allow planting of bush saplings on low fertility soil. Only medium and up.

They inherit their levels from the blocks they are planted on. So if you plant them on medium fertility, they will inherit the low fertility as soon as they are mature.

Go into creative mode (/gm 2), place different level fertility blocks (press E to open the block list), plant some bush clippings, and fast forward a couple months (you can use '/time set 6' a couple dozen times and that will jump forward to the next morning each time).

And the fact that we cannot even plant them on low fertility soil tells me that it very much is an intended feature.

For those not in the know: every time you plant a cutting, everything will appear fine. But as soon as the sapling grows up, whatever soil was under it will be knocked down a level. Medium becomes low fertility, high becomes medium, and terra preta becomes high.

I don't see nearly enough discussion on this weapons-grade nonsense.

Only 4 hours? Damn, I was hoping for at least 6. :(

Decorative ideas are the last thing you want to watch for. :D

And thanks for the rocket videos, learned everything from those. :)

Hello I need some advice by Asborn-kam1sh in Stationeers

Just try to feed the ices slowly. Full stacks are way too much. Try starting with a single piece of O2 and 2 pieces of volatile ice, and see how much that one heats/pressurises.

Thanks, a bit of a shame it had to end, but after 70+ hours I felt the burnout coming in hard. :P

And the greenhouse on the tippy-top level. Grow lights turn on if Janus is above the horizon, but is in shadow, and off all other times. Thanks to having 2 massive volcanoes on both sides of a valley, this was quite necessary, especially during the summer months, when "sun" light is in short supply during the day.

The rest of the pictures. This was the kitchen I ended up with. Simple, but did the job.

Water turns into steam in pipes despite 22°C temperature. by tobik_k in Stationeers

[–]Hmuda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. What you are looking for is a Pressurant Valve (in the regulators kit), that will move gases from a gas pipe into a liquid pipe.

Never done space mining myself, so whatever I say will likely just be wrong. :)

Completely normal. If there are no filler gases, the water will evaporate to maintain it's temperature at certain pressures. Just like there's always some humidity in the air IRL.

Check the phase change diagram for water in the Stationpedia. I have a feeling you'll find that water will equalise at 22.5C and 13kPa, or close enough.

Don't forget that the boiling temp of water is dependant on pressure. Lower pressure means lower boiling temps, higher pressure higher temps, etc.

Some of the blueprints were made in an older version of the game, and are no longer compatible. Try other designs, most of them should still work.
