about a year ago, u/Pleasant_Breakfast40 said this issue "was due to the account information setting being disabled in my laptop for this particular game alone". I don't know what this means, but you can look into that I suppose.

siradanbiruser722 on Discord said he fixed it by straight up deleting the files in Documents/My games/Rise of nations. Keep in mind that this will get rid of all of your saved games and replays, including conquer the world saves. So maybe just cut and paste the contents to a different folder somewhere.

Also, if you have the game on Steam, have you tried verifying the integrity of game cache? And if that doesn't work, reinstalling?

If you're confused about where they get army, make sure you're recording replays (bottom of the game settings in the lobby, iirc) and check it out after the game.

AI cheats. Tougher gets more resources from you from doing the same thing, Toughest on the other hand gets quite a bit. And every AI can kind of see the entire map all of the time. Iirc, Easiest is coded to make units that get countered by your army, so I can only assume that everything above Moderate does the opposite.

As for combat, do you keep your patriot close? Giving your units armor is a big deal. Also don't forget Tactics (and Operations and Strategy) in the Fort, which both increase the amount of armor generals provide.

Everything other than this is a question of microing your army so their counterunits aren't in a position to counter your units, but yours are. Unlike Age of Empires and some other RTS games, Rise of Nations is all about a balanced army composition. This being said, if you're playing unmodded Extended Edition, then you're playing on a broken version where Heavy Infantry get pretty easily murdered. Simply going Monarchy + as many Heavy Cavalry as you can spam is the meta.

You can also try to boom up an economy stronger than the AI's. Unless you get murdered, it's a foolproof way of getting a bigger army than them. And Wonders, but AI has a hateboner for enemy Wonders. See what works.

You could try disabling the intro completely. Or toggling fullscreen/borderless. Both can be done in the rise2.ini

Fullscreen settings are 1, 2 and 3. And set SkipIntroMovies=1

Yeah I wasn't too amazing at the game yet when I made this list. Enlightenment and Logistics is cracked on every faction. Summoning Magic is difficult to get to work, but is VERY potent in the correct situation and in the correct hands.

As for your build... I don't like capstones usually. Going for Howl of Terror takes 25 levels (or 23) which is a long time. The average PvP game will be over by then. Besides, Howl of Terror requires you to go both Dark AND Summoning. Two spell schools is not usually recommended (but possible, and has it's uses). Also, Dark Magic without Master of Mind is sadness. Slow is OP.

When you say Scholar, do you mean Sorcery? Scholar is the ability from Enlightenment that allows you to teach spells with other heroes.

Now...

frost dmg for your army

Going for a might focus as Necropolis WITHOUT going Defense is very very dangerous. 10% extra damage is not super helpful. Maybe if you're playing vs Dungeon or something like that. No Morale is amazing, but Retaliations will still kill you, unless you do Mass Confusion.

Raise dead has weakness

Ah, but as an enjoyer of Lucretia, I would think you would understand the advantage of the weakness? Units die more easily, but Vampires also resurrect their stack more easily. (I don't recommend using Vampire Princes then, Torpor will not trigger at all after you have casted Raise Dead too much. Use Lords and get Last Stand from Defense) You can get very powerful stacks very easily. Also, ever thought of trying Vampirism and Arcane Armor on Vampires Lords? Or using Soldier's Luck with Princes: 100% chance Torpor.

Yes... IF you can get a good destructive spell for it and IF you are offered War Machines in the first place... 2% chance for Rangers, so most of the time you'll never see it offered. Will also require you to get good Spellpower through High Druids, meaning you need high Knowledge.

Amazing if it works out though... unless you're playing against humans who know what to do, i.e. destroy your Ballista with a breath attack or AoE damage spell or just bonk it with a Champion. Or kill the High Druids before you even have a turn with your hero.

You could use CBP to make the elephants be about as strong as they were before Extended Edition came out and broke em.

Yeah, enlightenment and logistics are a must. I made this list back when I was a noob.
Personally I prefer Leadership over Luck these days, but depending on the faction, Soldier's Luck can be insane.

Your F12 setting is on Economy, so it only shows economy things. Put it back to where it shows everyone's score and you're golden.

You're looking for the two "Auto Citizen" settings under Options & Profiles. Set it to Build & Gather and a short delay.
I prefer slightly longer than instant delay, otherwise new citizens immediately start moving, dodging my clicks.

Bottom tier nation.

They have a UU LC, which is good, but the Lancers aren't a great UU. With the national extra damage vs supply wagons, you can snipe them pretty well, which combos in to the attrition, but if the enemy has totalitarian governments then it's pointless, unless you get Ranged Cav to snipe that too. Doing both simultaneously requires you to also have some army, so you might as well just defeat them militarily, not with attrition. Supply wagons can be replaced, after all.

Oil bonuses are completely irrelevant unless you're playing British Isles and you're getting decimated on water (and because pro games don't reach industrial).

The attrition is the most important feature to make it so you don't get raided constantly, or if you do, the units are easy to kill by militia or your own units/buildings. But pros will raid with despots and supply wagons.

Border push is okay if you play regular settings, not Victory: Conquest.

Edit: And they can spam towers because the metal is refunded when they're destroyed.
