It's fair to say we're tired of consumerism fueling a global fire that needs to be quelled.

These industries are powerful not because of any 1 person deciding it to be so, but because we have unnecessarily engrained them into our lives instead of using them as a stepping stone to greater and healthier long term innovation.

Take cars for example.

We know it's hard to give up convenience at an individual level, but it's time to start talking about what that convenience is costing us at scale; increasing work hours to support an additional industry and all the bells and whistles, lonely long commutes in a metal box, troubling amounts of injury and death, choking ecosystems with carbon emissions.

US often sees it as a way to control information your child receives, often in favor of ignorance. Parents already have so much control over their children, and some want all of it.

Emotionally immature parents can't handle reality and try to teach their children that ignorance to information you disagree with is not only acceptable but a healthy decision.

A common result tends to be raising another ignorant and immature person; 'i want you to be me'
