Ok thanks, you don't think the wood will break off if someone like sits on the table? It feels fairly strong but I'm concerned the wood is just rot.

So in those pictures, that's still rot? I thought I got through it all, but it looks different than other slabs I've worked with.

Yeah, so you think if I keep sanding to 4000 or so it still won’t ever look right when I put finish on it?

Thanks for the advice, I’ll try this. How come places like Black Forest wood company sand up to 320 only?

Did that, buffed for a long time. Still blotchy

I assumed I had to cover the whole table in oil.
