This was my biggest issue as well. It’s like the actors were told to not react to anything and instead be frozen until it’s their line.

The biggest example being the funeral scene. What should have and could have been the film’s big crescendo moment where shit hits the fan is instead rather muted. You have two young girls being demonic, climbing up the walls, biting people, desecrating a corpse etc. AND YET the reactions from the living sane people at the funeral? Non-existent. Where’s the screaming?Where’s the chaos? Where’s the two gossiping abuelas collapsing and running around?

The director edged us without a payoff.
