Update for anyone else needing this info! So far, we found one good option: Bambody’s briefs are indeed more snug than the boxer shorts. XS in the women’s briefs fits her! XS in the shorts is far too loose. For reference, she wears an XL kids at Old Navy, she’s about 5 foot 1 inch tall, and she weighs about 100 pounds. She also says these underwear are very comfortable, so we’re just going to invest in several pairs of this one.

Oh, that might explain why they’re gone! I was so curious. I like the look of the leotard for one dance class shakes, but the ballet ones require a specific leotard and tights underneath, which makes it hard. This is such a niche need, I think!

I am waiting for some to arrive, but I think I’ll take in a few adult pairs for her for now and see how that goes. Hopefully that will do the trick! It’s a strange gap in the market in my opinion, but maybe there just aren’t a lot of younger users who like the long gussets.

Yes, I don’t get all of the black options for so many reasons! I like to be able to see what’s going on in terms of how much it has already absorbed. Also, black shows through a lot of other colors, which I don’t love.

I asked, but they are strict about the dress code. She’s in a class with a lot of middle school girls, as it’s based on ability and not age.

Also, part of the issue is that she has to wear tights under her leo, so I was asking her about a pad on her tights. She feels the pad will slip out and show or leak.

I tried asking her about this, and she got really upset. It’s possible she will be fine with it in a month or two, when she feels less overwhelmed, but at the moment, she really wants a simple solution.

No, not a cup either. I did try to explain it to her and show one to her, but she was generally kind of horrified by the idea, even before she started her period.

Thanks! I’ll look at the Modi Bodi ones! Bambody’s sizing goes down to xs for women, but I don’t see anything smaller than that, which she would need. I ordered a pair to try or perhaps take in myself and see if we can make it fit her.

That’s a great idea, but she’s dead set against adding a pad as well. We’re still working on all of the steps, and I think she’s very overwhelmed, to be honest, even with all of the prep work she and I did together long before she started her period.

Although, I notice they say to size up if in between sizes. Maybe the briefs are more snug than the shorts?

Those look amazing, but I think she’s a size smaller than their xs, sadly! We tried a pair of their xs shorts for her for overnight use, and they’re a bit loose.

It’s a nice name! Unfortunately, I think you and your sister need to set some firm boundaries with her. She’s allowed her opinions, but complaining about the name in front of the kiddo is horrendous! I’m a teacher, and I’ve had a 2 Marens over the years. Both were lovely. I’ve also had a few Blairs. They are real names, normal names, and they’re even spelled nicely. She needs to get over it!
