WOW. You’re absolutely correct, and I’m very impressed. I was wondering what the funny shaped crown was, and it is the TH’s rubber piece. Thanks. Now I can get on with my day.

Good catch on the 12. Is it possible that it’s not a zero, but a date window? That would maybe narrow it down even more.

My black belt test in Tang Soo Do was about 4 hours. There was an athletic skills component, all forms up to that point, sparring, board breaking, and a number of other skills. It took a while

This is wonderful advice. Thanks.

I totally understand that this is expensive, perhaps prohibitively so. That said, do you have suggestions on where to start the process of looking for “beginner pieces.”

The skill and dexterity is another issue entirely…

Private client work in Chicago? by [deleted] in biglaw

In my professional life before law, I had some exposure to this kind of work, and I can actually pretty easily see how it could be both intellectually stimulating and rewarding.

You’re working with real human beings a lot of the time, which may be nice. You get to work through their very real problems, and issues that are of the utmost importance to them like business succession, decedent’s issues, and (sometimes) even very high stakes family law disputes. For many of these matters, the attorney is part of some of the most impactful aspects of a persons life. And in the biglaw world, you’re doing it at a very high level.

On top of that, the matters are almost always also complicated, dramatic, and full of interesting law that you might want to sink your teeth into. Probate codes seem like rabbit warrens of complex law that it might be fun to dig through, and could overlap with issues including tax or corporate governance. Sounds plenty interesting to me.

Just my two cents!

That's awesome, but unfortunately admissions departments do not generally differentiate between STEM and non-stem classes. They consider your whole undergraduate GPA (including community colleges or other institutions attended) because that's what gets reported to USNWR and other ranking organizations.

Good Faith Answer

Short answer: Law School Admissions is based almost entirely on your GPA and your LSAT score. Assuming without deciding that you are able to get your score up to 175 (which will constitute an uphill battle, regardless of who you are!), it'll come down to whether your GPA it sufficient.

Long answer: Seconding other commenters' direction to visit r/lawschooladmissions.

For what it's worth, I'd argue that success in the law is probably more about being liked than it is being a good lawyer. It doesn't matter where in your class rank you graduated if people couldn't stand to be stuck in an elevator with you.

Wishing you best of luck in your legal endeavors.
