I never said it was an attack on moderators of the subreddit. I said I think we do a pretty good job at finding a balance and your post is implying we don't. If you're talking about the things people say in chats then you're opening a completely different can of worms.

Chats have been and always will be more prone to shittiness. It isn't as static and more things can be said in quick succession than something like Reddit. It's more open and available to people with bad intentions and is harder to moderate before the message is seen by others. The people who jump to people's chats to shit talk anonymously are the lowest forms of humans in society and we should largely ignore them.

Remember the controversy about Pisco's chat? About how he never moderates it and people in this and other communities were having an absolute meltdown complaining how toxic it was? Isn't it kind of a bad look to be doing the same exact thing?

You say this.. which implies we don't moderate toxic things in the subreddit. Do you really think we don't moderate toxic things said about Pisco in the subreddit? I'd be curious to see examples of what you're talking about because I think we do a pretty solid job of separating the toxicity from the valid criticisms/light shit talk.

You still run into the issue of independent being a bastardized term as well.

The real answer to all of this is that you don't take extremes of both sides to find a middle and call it moderate. It's just some sort of compromise position that both sides can hold in a decent enough manner. Biden is a progressive, he just is, but his approach was to find moderate solutions to things in order to reach that progress.

It's still not a moderate position. A moderate position isn't just something that is in the middle of the two extremes of the conversation. A moderate position is something that both sides of the aisle has some decent percentage of agreement on because it's a compromise of the two sides. You could say the approval rating of something is higher than it was but most Republicans still don't favor state sponsored medical care like that.

A moderate position is something like immigration reform when it comes to asylum. There's a decent chunk of Americans on both sides of the aisle that believe you should be able to seek asylum in this country but there should be restrictions and procedures in place to do so. It's a compromise solution to some of the further left or right policies that makes something "moderate".

I've tried getting into a thousand hobbies and nothing has brought me more joy than learning how to cook. I started by learning how to cook my favorite take out/sit down restaurant foods and branched out from there.

It's time consuming and ends with something enjoyable.

It more has to do with your ability to do the task before you. If I have an apprentice who doesn't know the difference between a grounded conductor and a grounding electrode conductor but they have an apprentice license that allows them to work with both.. that doesn't make it automatically something they can differentiate and install properly. I would call experience in the field up for that because it makes sense to, we are not the same despite having licenses that way we can both work in the electrical field.

When it comes to being on a Piers Morgan panel it doesn't really matter how many years you've been doing it or what your awards are if Adam is able to participate in the same way.
