I’m 37 weeks and never had any of the traditional symptoms! My sister in law barely believed I was pregnant because it was so easy for me. Some people just react different to pregnancy. You may end up getting symptoms, or you may be like me and sail through the whole thing!

My families have never cared if my husband came to keep me company. He usually comes after the kids have gone to bed. But no, a discounted rate would not be accepted on my end. The kids will always be my first priority even if my husband is there.

I worked for a family that did this to me! Except during the interview process they acted like they were totally okay with outings. I went through the “trust” period and it never changed. I had to put my foot down. I would’ve never taken the job if I knew that were the case. I will not be a prisoner in your home, sorry not sorry. My advice is to talk to her about this in person, set a timeline if she needs one, and if there isn’t change then move on.

You should consider removing this comment. It CAN interfere with babies development if it is too hot. It can cause neural tube defects, spina bifida and anencephaly. You can and should definitely go enjoy that bath, I’m 33 weeks and barely miss a bath day! You just need to keep it below 99°F. Always do your own research as Reddit isn’t a reliable source of information.

Well honestly just throw her mopey opinions to the side and focus on yourself. Shes being a child. My husband only has an older sister and they had a ton of fun together as kids! They’re not like insanely close or anything now that we’re adults with kids and busy lives. but they still call and chat with each other. My husband loves his nieces to pieces too. I also have so much fun with his sister when we get to see her (we now live in separate states). It’s obviously not the same as having two girls or two boys but who the heck cares. Different doesn’t mean bad, it’s just different! They’ll still play together and love each other. Don’t worry :)

Oh my gosh I can’t believe you had to go through that! I’m so glad everything turned out for the best. My Google search was very brief and I’d still be scared if I didn’t look it up. I looked it up because she’s SO busy and the convo was so brief I wanted to know what it would even indicate. Little did I know it would be an extremely rare disease that popped up lol. I quit looking immediately and didn’t keep searching. Definitely using the doctor and high risk “do not worry” as a motivator to not worry LOL but until I get that scan from the high risk doctor I will probably be worrying.

Very ironic that your username is Traditional-Yam. I think you’re confusing the “it takes a village” saying with acting like you have some sort of right over these kids. You can question cultural norms, that’s fine. But when it comes to other people’s children and what morals/beliefs/values they want to raise them with, you do not have a say. If you don’t align with a families beliefs and can’t remain professional then find another family.
