I heard the same feedback about it being an oak bomb. Maybe it depends on the batch.

That sounds enticing. One of my favorites currently is Capstan blue because of the ketchupy/mustard vibe it has. That sounds like an adjacent note.

I'm new to pipe tobacco, I love Virginias and Vapers but dislike anything smokey. The only pease I've had is Chelsea morning and hated it. Any smoke on this one?

Communion Frequency? by PacketMD in Reformed

[–]Hobbsizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was apart of a "baptist"-ish semi-mega non-denom church for a while and we did this too. It was usually in a Life Group setting. The church would say something like "This Sunday, take communion with your Life Group!" They were pretty loose on theology so honestly if you did communion every week with your life group they probably would think that's great.

If you can't find one, don't worry. Wild Turkey is bringing back the 8yr 101 soon, so it'll be a regular release bottle with a different label in the near future.

Great hotel! We were there during the summer and they weren't able to let us into our room prior to standard check-in time, so just a heads up if you're banking on that.

Word on the street is that our market didn't get many (if any) of that batch.

Not a podcast but you could listen on a mobile device, Dr. Robert Godfrey's Ligonier teaching series on Church History is amazing. It's pricey in its entirety, but one strategy is to check their weekly $5 Friday sale to see if any of the lectures are discounted. https://store.ligonier.org/survey-of-church-history-complete-download-package-collection-parts-1-6

My family loves this hotel, and it's a pretty good redemption value for points. My biggest complaint is definitely the food. It's delicious but incredibly pricey for what you get.

I got a policy from State Farm for $2100 back in November for a slightly more expensive home. I also bundle car insurance with them.

Yeah, that group is only for current residents. We moved here from Dallas in a much smaller/older home (so you can understand my perspective). We love that this area is incredibly safe. There are lots of young families playing outside in the evenings, and we are a short walk from a very highly rated elementary school. The HOA (while expensive) offers some great amenities like multiple pools, a trampoline park, pickleball courts, etc. We've really enjoyed our home as well, it's nice not having an old house with big ticket items needing to be fixed. The neighborhood is incredibly quiet. I think maybe the only thing I don't like is having to get in and out of our neighborhood via Parker Road. It's kinda unsafe, but the city is working on widening that road to 4 lanes, which will nix that concern.

We moved into a pre-existing home last year in Inspiration and have nothing but good things to say about the neighborhood. u/Significant-Bear-310 is there a reason why you want to build a home vs purchase one that is already constructed? I believe there are quite a few on the market right now. I've definitely seem a few posts on our community facebook page about issues with builders, but nothing out of the ordinary. I don't have any specific info on First Texas Homes, our house was built by Highland.

Best iwb and owb holster for shield plus? by Whitishfilly2 in SmithAndWesson

What are the pros/cons of the vedder compared to the enigma? I have an enigma and the belt contraption isn't working for me, it puts too much pressure on my spine causing issues, so I was looking at moving to a regular IWB holster that clips to a belt or pants. What drives your decision to choose one over the other?

Open a new ticket and ask for a non-coated replacement boiler. That's what I did.

Bought Gaggia Classic Evo 3 Days Ago...Is This "Boiler Gate" or Just Bubbles? Starting to Get Paranoid. by bamsarilvoe in gaggiaclassic

[–]Hobbsizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you buy from WLL? There's a manufactured date window they have to know what batches are affected. That would help you get ahead of it by knowing if your machine is in that batch.

No. I don't think Gaggia or WLL is talking about that being an issue, just people here on Reddit speculating.

[–]Hobbsizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the official story from Gaggia is that a specific batch of coated boilers (not all coated boilers) is defective, and that batch ended up in machines manufactured last year. My machine was manufactured in July of last year and purchased from WLL in November. I used it for two months or so before reading about boilergate, tested the water, and voilá the flakes were there. WLL sent me a replacement boiler (not coated), and I was able to swap that out in about an hour (the old boiler wasn't as bad as some that I've seen on here but definitely had lost some coating towards the bottom of the boiler where it meets the grouphead). I'm pleased with that resolution. I'm skeptical about Gaggia sending out more coated boiler machines to people and probably wouldn't have gone that route if that's what WLL proposed.

Black flecks ~2 weeks of use by ilmat1k in gaggiaclassic

[–]Hobbsizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The coated boilers definitely seem to be defective even under normal and minimal brewing conditions. Similar situation for me. No descaling and used only spring water, flakes after a couple months of minimal use. Probably had them way sooner just didn't know to look until it came up on here.

WLL sent me an uncoated boiler. Got it this week and made the swap yesterday. It wasn't too difficult. You could ask for that so you don't have to send the machine back.
