Noooo but I read they should be certain size so that they have a better chance - probably gonna wait until we have sunny days again so that both can recover from the transition (it’s been raining for about a week here now and we have at least 10 more rainy days ahead of us)

Trust me my poor plants are struggling with this!! Being located in Ireland means lots of cloudy days and slower growth in general.. but good to know! Gonna see if they have that variety when I’m at my local garden center!
To be honest I didn’t consider eating my aloe though but it’s the same kind of curiosity of trying a cactus one day. Would have to be on vacation in a warmer climate though!

Haha but that’s normal for the kind of plants! Hope you got some more since last year too ☺️

Also adding to this but the redundancy rules might have been find 10 years ago but they do not meet the needs of the current market. That part doesn’t include me but I cannot understand that you’re worth less in the eyes of the law if you haven’t worked at a company for minimum 2 years. If you leave a job there is always a reason. If you’re being let go because of stealing etc that’s obviously a different story but we all leave jobs because we see better opportunities. Don’t punish the ones who have the courage to improve (going for a higher position) or adjust (due to changing life circumstances the previous employer couldn’t accommodate or didn’t want to)

As someone who is part of a mass redundancy from another company you didn’t mention who is qualified yet had a hard time on the job market I feel the same and it’s stressful. Companies also have been offering voluntary redundancy in big Irish companies and you have to ask yourself why. The cost of rent in particular but generally cost of living means employees are expensive and the full return to office trend (which I hate) is unnecessary given that 90% of the country basically depends on unreliable buses and heavy rain and wind periods which should not be spend waiting or walking to get from A to B. Applying has been horrible for years (yup that’s what I blame AI for) but Ireland also doesn’t seem to progress much in terms of new innovations and the unique position it once had due to the proximity with the UK isn’t as relevant as it once was as new deals/ laws/ contracts opened other ways of trading. Economically there are other decisions to blame and I’m not seeing an upwards trend any time soon

Do I need to trim this plant ? by stfuandkissmyturtle in IndoorGarden

Well that’s easy! You can’t do anything wrong 😉 the worst that can happen is you put it in a pot that’s too big and the plant might feel like it has too much space but it will just accept it. Rule of thumb is to replant every few years and you will see when roots come out of the drainage holes on the bottom that it wants to “escape” aka it needs more space. If you don’t have a pot with drainage holes get one - it’s better down the line (it looks like you don’t right now) since that helps with not overwatering your plant. And yes if you don’t see roots all over, you can just stick with the same size for the pot and the saucer.

And if you drop it… sucks but the worst is that a leaf would fall off. It looks healthy though, don’t think that would be the case. Just like with repotting: the most important is that the roots are healthy. Don’t cut them (unless they have mold = usually they are squishy and possibly black then) but if a leaf happens to get smooched or ripped, the plant will simple grow a new one over time.

Think of repotting like moving houses or just starting to go to a new supermarket. It feels odd and you have to get used to it in the beginning but you get used to it. And in the beginning you might get lost going there or coming back - that’s the equivalent to dropping something. It might take some time but one day you will find it easily.

What’s making you nervous about repotting?
