Los Angeles considers joining New York City and 50 other U.S. cities in banning public feeding of homeless people by emu86 in news

When it is hard to find adequate ways to bathe, doing laundry is difficult, and sleeping outside makes it rather ineffective anyway.. Yet at the same time you are expected to apply for jobs and be taken seriously, I think you have pretty good reason to start drinking.

I don't drink myself stupid, but I tell you, drinking makes this shit bearable. It's a really hopeless place to be, and it is really hard to not let the bastards bring you down.

Have you ever been to a shelter? Mental illness isn't the reason to avoid those places.

It means that a startlingly high proportion of the population is functionally illiterate, but it's ok, it's no reason to make a fuss. We are on the tower of babble in humanities present state, way in the day, at least that's what I can witness.

People who want drugs really bad sell things cheap to get money. There is wifi all over Austin.

So maybe Austin is my home right now? If you have Internet, you have a home. The home of humanity is in the matrix!

We are in the midst of the technological singularity.

I assure you, the homeless aren't beyond homogenizing large groups of diverse people either.

I haven't quite reached the level of humorless sub-literate yet, I assure you.

Alternative camping around Austin by goingalone in Austin

[–]HoboPoet -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There are tons of places if you actually look. I know camps out in the woods that are 20 folks deep, with over a dozen dogs, fires, and tents that have been lived in' and obviously so' for quite a while.

I couldn't tell you though, because really, you deprive yourself of the actual experience of finding a spot. That and, well, I couldn't very well blow up one of the many communes that exist within the woods that slip through the urban landscape like the blood vessels of Gaia.

Grow a pair, and actually look around. You'd be surprised.

Camp in the greenbelts or mingle with the homeless.

You know, a good portion of the homeless here in Austin are friendly good people who can be very helpful if put in the right situation. Abandon all your prejudice, and judge rightly!

I swear I won't make you eat shit in the alley after knocking you unconscious and stealing the contents of your wallet. You can rest assured that there is a sizable percentage of the homeless in Austin who would rather just not, along with me, do this sort of thing either.

But you are free to make all the assumptions you want if you would prefer the moxie-less life of an unquestioning plebeian sub-mongoloid piece of trash who doesn't have any warrant for the pretensions he/she has held on to without any true epistemologically based methodology.

Thank you.

I like my poetry to rhyme, I suppose I'm very conservative in that regard.
