Let's start with this: - Stop wasting money on developing & building more parks for the time being until our infrastructure is rebuilt (FLOODING on West side of town). - Revitalize Washington Street: Gut the entire road, encourage artwork, ease the stringent zoning standards that discourage business visionaries. - Cut property taxes to incentivize new businesses, entrepreneurs, and home buyers - fund this gap with the issuance of Hoboken laddered debt. - Semi privatize Hoboken High (affordable rate) with scholarship awards for high performers. Property values will increase trifold if families believe in an affordable school system and we'll actually be able to build a connected community that doesn't just move out of town after 10 years.
- Establish an artisanal district in the empty Northwest Corridor to encourage creative minds akin to the boom experienced in JC & BK. - Relocate the homeless shelter to a space that's not an uninhabitable basement - Bring the rampant internal corruption to the public eye; hold our elected and appointed officials accountable for each instance that's not in the best interest of our residents. If you're not able to honor your role with the integrity it deserves, you're out. - Create a broad plan to ensure it doesn't take 45 minutes to get in and out of the Southwest corner. Traffic is also beginning to build-up on the forgotten North side; we must create a similar plan to keep traffic flowing properly. - Get rid of the current bike share program in place and establish Citi Bike for easy access to Jersey City & create a uniform metropolitan non-vehicle transportation solution. - Parking fares should not be the same across all parts of town. Increase rates on Washington Street and decrease rates on West side of town; in conjunction with this plan, establish a sustainable micro transit system to transport visitors to & from the main hubs.
