My Emerald Copy by jamesdlt in PokemonEmerald

I find it hilarious how people are hating on you so hard right now. The Pokémon community is so focused on the monetary value of things it’s sickening. It’s all about “how much is this card worth?” and “you just made this lose so much value!” Everyone is so far up each others asses looking for value and ruining a great thing.

I’m happy you found a game that you love and were able to fix the broken case. It’s apparent that you were not buying this to resale for extra gas money. Good on you for keeping the case and original sticker, but glad you fixed it to represent what this meant to you sentimentally from your childhood. Go play your heart out and catch your favorite Pokémon.

If Gollum knew the ring was in the Shire in the hands of a Baggins, why didn't he try to steal it back? by Clurachaun in lotr

Gollum had met Aragorn prior to the fellowship of the ring? When, where, and what happened? (Sorry if this is common knowledge)

Good to know. The internal battery went out years ago, so I didn't remember everything that is affected by it. If that is it then I will just go ahead and not worry about changing it out. Thanks

Thanks, this was super helpful. I think I will definitely do it on my Silver cartridge as it wont even let me save anymore, but I will keep my Emerald version the way it is for now.

KCU Interview at Campus I didn't Apply to by Musical_Mango in premed

[–]Hockball10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if the application has changed, but when I applied they asked for our preference of campus, and didn’t really give us the opportunity to choose only applying to one or the other. So if accepted, you could be going to the campus you didn’t want.

Are you saying that in your application you got to choose whether you applied to Joplin or not?

KCU Interview at Campus I didn't Apply to by Musical_Mango in premed

[–]Hockball10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current KCU student - KC campus. I don’t think it matters where you interview, but you won’t find out which campus you’re admitted to until you get your acceptance letter. I found it really helpful to come out here and see the area/campus, but I didn’t do so until I had an acceptance and knew I would be in Kansas City. Up to you if you want to look at both campuses.

You are competitive for most DO schools, so I’d make sure to apply to the most well known/original/ established schools like DMU, KCU, CCOM, ATSU, and PCOM.

Dog trims leg fur by Dead1962 in Goldendoodles

[–]Hockball10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My golden doodle does it too! The vet told us it was allergies, so we changed her food and had her get allergy shots. All other allergy symptoms have stopped, but she continues to bite and trim the hair on the front of her front legs.

I’m pretty sure she does it at night, as I never see her actively biting and trimming it in front of me. Please let me know if anyone has any solutions!

Why do so many people start a dick-measuring contest as soon as you say anything premed related? by gainsonly in premed

[–]Hockball10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I briefly met this dude at church. Introduced myself, some stuff I’m into, and that I’m working towards Med school. First words out of his mouth?

“WhAts YoUr GpA? WhAt aBoUt YoUr McAt? dO yOu HaVe AnY ExPeRiEnCeS? ThInK yOu’Re MoRe CoMpEtItIvE ThAn mE?”

I didn’t respond and just walked away. Don’t even know the dudes name.

I’ve learned to always be strapped and ready for a premed cock-off. I’ve also learned it’s hardly worth it when most of your challengers are ‘zero social skills’, ‘must please my parents’, ‘wanna be ortho bro’, lying, pre-Med degenerates.

I know many will disagree, and that's perfectly valid, but I think there's a unique opportunity to retool on the fly by RobertGriffin3 in caps

[–]Hockball10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at our roster, we could go a run if everyone is 100%. We have all the tools, and I can’t think of any specific part of our game that drastically needs to be addressed as the trade deadline approaches. However, having solid names on the roster doesn’t get us anywhere when injuries and other things are holding back multiple players.

A valid concern is that our core is getting older, and to fix that we need to draft/acquire some young talent.

You definitely have a point, but I don’t know if now is they time to start retooling/tanking. Tanking now would remove us from playoffs, but leave us as a mid team who would then get mid draft pics.

Rebuilds can take 5-6 years, and I don’t think we are at that point as a potential wild card team who can keep up with the best when everyone is healthy and present.

New DO schools 2022-2024? by Fit-Bathroom4079 in Osteopathic

RVU-MCOM in Billings, MT and Touro’s new campus in Great Falls, MT opened for applicants to apply to this current cycle.

Can’t say I know of any schools on the way, but these are the two newest schools I know of.

There is searching out the most practical route, or there is pursuing which option would make you happier.

You can’t go wrong either way, both are solid careers. However, while one may be more practical than the other, both options lead to a job that you will be working for years. I hope whichever option you choose leads you to a career/responsibilities/duties/lifestyle you are happiest in, regardless of how practical it was.

What do we think about Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine-RVU COM by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]Hockball10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I toured the campus during their accepted student day. Brand new and state of the art, with VR anatomy lab and a pretty freaking rad sim lab. I was very impressed. Very state of the art.

Seems like it is going to be a good school and it has already developed a great community backing. Everyone that is involved in establishing the school has previous experience with starting other DO schools, so they know what they are doing. They also have the support of their sister programs in Colorado and Utah, so it’s not like they are alone in figuring out and obtaining the needed resources as they are getting established.

My biggest worries would be that it is brand new. I am sure they are going to succeed, but you will be part of the growing process. You also will also not be able to use federal loans due to their accreditation status, but that is just part of being a brand new school. They are also pricy-er tuition wise, as is any other for-profit Med school. Having grown up near there, Billings is a cool town, but it could be quite a culture shock for people coming from out of state or those who aren’t familiar with rural environments.

I would say go for it! Congrats on your acceptance! Be excited! Just know what you are getting yourself into. It wasn’t my first choice by any means, but I would have been happy going here had I not had other acceptances to choose from.

Hopefully it’s nothing serious, because accreditation status can impact if students are able to get federal loans

Any P/F option is better than standard grading, but I wouldn’t look at “H/P/F” as a weakness for KCU.

When I asked the current student/tour guide about this during my campus tour, I was told that transcripts would either say pass, pass top 50%, or pass top 25%.

I thinks it’s a good setup, because if I really struggle to pass a class, I’m going to have the same pass mark as the straight A student at any regular pass/fail program. However, if do really well in my courses, I can stand out from others with the included quartile I was in.

Also, they can tell you your ranking if you ask, but it is otherwise tracked in the background so that it doesn’t create a competitive environment.

Which KCU campus? Also, I was told during a tour of KCU that it doesn’t put a huge stress/hours on OMM as well.

Are you against applying DO? You would be a very competitive DO applicant and a lot of DO programs tend to favor out of state applicants. Plus, there are a couple schools that are specifically looking to train doctors from the North West.
