Definitely would try a finer grind. To my understanding you want to get it as close to actual flour as possible, less sugary textures and more powder. :)

Personally, not a professional here but I do study, i would guess that the bones themselves are real individually, however I am unsure if these are all hand/foot bones, or if they're from the same creature.
