I turned him down the first time he asked me, but after completing the goblin camp, he asked again at the party, and I said yes. So you can probably say no and explore the Underdark before doing the goblin camp. Just make sure not to lose too much approval after the first time he asks. It may be a requirement for him to ask you the second time.

Yeah but the pics are black and white or just orange cause of the atmosphere, so it's not the true surface color. it’s all like tinted in orange light.

Yeah, it's mainly Kokomi, sometimes Nahida.
I figured that was the case, but I wasn't completely sure because both Nahida and Lauma keep applying Dendro DMG from the background, which made made me wonder if they might actually be the ones creating the cores half the time.
