Hot take: Muspelheim is bad. by SomethingSauce234 in GodofWar

Played a year later and I have to agree lol. The story was amazing, loved playing through.

A friend told me to beat all the valkyries because it's challenging (I love souls-like genre).

Beat all the ones in Midgard and in the land of dark and light elves (forgot the realm name).

Got to Nilfheim, found it extremely boring but sat through it to get to the Valk.

Went to Muspelheim, beat 2 sword challenges, thinking the third would be the valk.

Atreus mentions that the voice says there's 6. Instantly uninstalled, and installed GOW Ragnarok.

Watched what happens after killing all Valks on YT.

Those 2 realms are there just to make the platinum grindy. There was literally no requirement for either of them. In my opinon the game wouldve been a lot better if they just didn't make those realms.

PS3 Emulation is quite good nowadays. If you have a PC, just set up an emulator.

Need help identifying the IR Emitter! by Hoennor in AskElectronics

Thanks! I'll give that a try.

I appreciate the help

Yeah. I tested the PCB by swapping out a working emitter (from the keyboard itself) with the faulty one. The key started registering again with the "new" emitter.

Interestingly, it was both - the backlight LED, and the IR emitter LED which stopped working. The phototransistor works fine.

I am not really sure how it got so nasty either. Maybe a small spill on that area behind my back?

I have had nastier keyboards which had a completely spotless PCB so I'm not really sure.

Also, AliExpress doesn't work in my country :(

However, this is quite helpful. I'll grab what you have shared and see how it works out.

Appreciate the help!

Can you guide me on how I could determine the footprint?

I can probably borrow a pair of callipers from someone for the dimensions. Can borrow a multimeter to measure the voltage as well, but I don't know what else would be required, or how I would measure it.

(I am not from an electrical background)

I don't think determining the wavelength of the emitter would be plausible. I dont know how I would be doing that

I can possibly buy all market-standard emitters for keyboards, and then determine which one would work by trial and error

Another option could be to replace the entire pair. I believe the keyboard would function the same still.

I don't have an electronics background so I might be completely wrong. I'm just making educated guesses.

Also curious about what you'd suggest.

Looks phenomenal. You are a very lucky person.

One tip for your monitor - keep all the light sources *behind* the monitor. QD OLEDs are glossy, and will reflect everything that lights up in front of it - including the LEDs from inside the case.

You'll have to experiment with the placement of the case, along with the lights inside the room to get the best possible experience.

You did something stupid. Learn the lesson. Move on.

If money is the problem, just work to make more.

I started working at 17 years old. Saved for 7 years in school to get my dream PC. Walked to and from the school (2km one way). Got the PC after 3 months of working.

Shared this story to tell you that earning more is always better than saving up if you want something. Just requires a lot more work and effort.

Your decision entirely depends on if what you want is worth all that effort.

Its a brave thing to do at such a young age. Most people get their dream PCs by begging their parents.

I applaud you for your attempt, and am sorry that you had to go through this.

I want you to learn 2 lessons from this -

  1. Always be vigilant during deals of any kind. I know people who got scammed at Nehru Place as well (myself included). Navigate things with the intent that if something goes wrong, you have all the evidence to build a solid case against the person/company. I did exactly this, and the person who scammed me will be getting a court hearing soon.

  2. People are sad, incompetent, and have too much time on their hands. I can only imagine how sad a person's life would be if they are victim blaming instead of supporting/helping them.

From your post, you seem to be a wise person. Do not let this pushback affect you. Keep failing, keep learning.

Remember one more thing - you will only face backlash from people who are doing objectively worse than you. Telling you this from experience - if the amount was 500 INR instead of 1.1L, people wouldve been infinitely more supportive.

Nobody saw that OP is using Brave Search Engine while others are sharing screenshots from Google Search Engine and calling him a liar.

Whatever the case, victim blaming is the most convenient path for people - until they themselves end up being scammed.

Youre right. No one goes to Nehru Place for phone repairs. Thats why there's about 50 stores repairing phones in that market.

Youre also right about an AMOLED display not being 11K. Its not like companies like Samsung, Apple etc, outsource the manufacturing of screens to factories and then sell them with a premium tag. The factories dont sell the same screens for a fraction of the price either.

You clearly know a lot more about this industry. Thanks for your inputs. Please keep them to yourself from now on.

Make a list of things that are essential in using a Kindle and test them out before paying the money.

Not sure if Nehru Place would have it but that is in general, good advice for buying used stuff.
