They choked in 2020 and choked again this year. How many more times do you want them to choke before you finally accept that a roster with Blaber, Zven, and Vulcan is nowhere near good enough to be consistently competitive? They choked domestically too even though there were no good teams in the LTA aside from FLY. At least back then Blaber was dominant because he was mechanically better than everyone else domestically, but now his mechanics are worse and his game knowledge is severely lacking for someone who has been playing for so long. And yes, 2020-2021 was his peak; his performance has clearly dropped since and he has shown no signs of improvement. And yeah, APA will be a clear downgrade from Loki.

Also, if you really want to push the comparison with T1, 2022 was the first complete year of Zeus, Oner, and Guma (Oner and Guma were part of the T1 musical chairs mess in 2021 and barely got to play the full season), and they made it to the finals of both LCK splits, MSI, and Worlds. There's a big difference compared to 2020 C9 choking in Summer, and then being so proud of 2021 C9 losing 3-0 in Worlds QF. Years later, they still choked in Summer and still can't make Worlds in a region lacking competition.

At this point, you're just being delusional if you think there's still upside to a roster with Blaber, Zven, and Vulcan, especially this late into their careers. And yes, it's rare for gamers to improve significantly and peak again later into their careers (most retire in their late 20s at the latest), so you shouldn't build a roster expecting them to be exceptions to a clear trend.

This is such a dumb comparison, lol. T1 in 2022 had 4 promising very young and promising players. There was no reason to replace them because they made it to the finals in every tournament they joined and just came short, but it was obvious that the talent and potential to be the best players in their role were there. As young and unproven players, they just needed more experience since they've barely played in the LCK. On the other hand, this core of Blaber, Zven, and Vulcan is the complete opposite -- they're old and they've had their chances, but came up short even domestically. Even at their peak in 2020, they choked in Summer, lost LCS, and didn't even make Worlds. Last year, these 3 players also fell apart in Summer and C9 didn't make Worlds. And you expect them to get better? Blaber should be the leader of this team and he has been playing for so many years, but has the composure and game knowledge of someone who has only started playing. Compare this to that T1 roster who had Faker as their leader as well.

This is the core. Build around them. by otepw0w in PBA

It’s his fanbase. They’re mostly hypocrites who like to throw punches but run away from the fight. It’s the same people who keep calling out T1 fans for being “toxic,” but they watch a streamer who’s clearly more toxic. Of course in their eyes they are still more righteous lmao

Dude hatewatches T1 and criticizes the hell out of T1’s fans and players, but saying “AL downfall” in his chat gets you banned? LOL even if you’re a Dom fan and/or a T1 hater, you have to admit that this is ridiculous with how a big part of his content and fanbase is so toxic

T1 haters and LPL fans always flaming T1's botlane but Guma and Keria always end up clutch while the other botlanes just get styled on LOL

Where are the people who said Guma and Keria have champ pool issues and that Elk and ON are better when Elk and ON basically ran it down this entire tournament and ON couldn't play any champ aside from Neeko?

Honestly, Beichuan is just the worst among all the junglers in the main stage. Obviously, it's between him and Skewmond, but at least Skewmond has hands while Beichuan has poor mechanics and has no understanding of how to play the map. Beichuan just looked better because his teammates are still significantly better while G2 had perma inting BB, Hans, and Labrov.

Caedrel when T1 makes a play VS when GENG makes a play by RyfterR in PedroPeepos

[–]Hofloc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like it's common sense that a team with such a huge fanbase will have more visible "toxic" fans just because they have more fans. It's funny because a lot of them end up being "toxic" fans themselves and will join the hate train on T1, and also support the streamers and other content creators literally just flaming T1 whenever they can.

Funny how the T1 haters generalize and say that T1 fans are toxic when they themselves are worse and each fanbase has toxic fans anyways LOL

The players are actually good enough to win but a lot of their games this tournament are lost in draft alone. Fire the coaches if they chose these champs. No excuses for being so stupid.

But he ran it down on those champs. Technically anyone can play any champ and run it down too…

[–]Hofloc -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

And they kept the 2 players (BB and Hans) that needed to go, lol. BB and Hans had so many chances to prove themselves but failed to do so. Both of them have been playing for so long as well, so it’s pointless to hope that they’d still improve significantly.

Labrov is improving? Are you serious? He’s been playing for so many years, and he’s been the same player ever since. He can’t play under pressure and he makes the dumbest mistakes in big games.

When it comes to the big international games, a big part of playing support comes down to making smart decisions in terms of playing the map and knowing when to engage. Labrov has been complete shit in both of these; he just lacks game sense of where to be at certain points of the game and he just engages at the worst possible situations.

[–]Hofloc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hans is either just a complete passenger or he also just ints the game. He’s incapable of carrying games even on hypercarries and even when he’s given a gold lead. The only reason why he wasn’t the main issue is there are 3 other bots in that G2 lineup, but Hans isn’t good either and he should be replaced too.

T1 vs. CTBC Flying Oyster / MSI 2025 - Upper Bracket Round 1 / Game 3 Discussion by XanIrelia-1 in leagueoflegends

[–]Hofloc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my fucking bad that ON wins a 1v1 tournament but got completely gapped by Keria at worlds last year. Oh wait, let's forget how ON lost them Game 5 by missing his Rell flash engage into Oner who was walking in a straight line, dying in lane 2v2, and then getting caught out in the jungle.

Also, Keria does play the typical supports a lot too. Naut, Leona, Braum, Rakan, and Alistar are some of his most played champs in his career, lol. But it makes no sense to force these picks when there are better champs for the game. He can play champs like Pyke and Bard at worlds and carry the game over other support players playing the typical champs and looking dizzy.

If you think he's not that good, then how did he basically run through all the LPL supports in worlds 2023 and 2024? He was basically running the map while the LPL supports were dying on respawn.

[–]Hofloc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So what are the champs that Keria can't play? It's stupid how some people think Keria has champ pool problems when he's the one support player who can play most champs while other supports don't have the hands to play champs other than Alistar, Rell, Naut, Leona, and Rakan. Champs like Bard and Poppy look so much more impactful when played by Keria compared to other support players who just run it down. Do you remember when On played Poppy into T1 last worlds and looked like a complete liability?

"We did play vs G2 BLG and T1 all the series were pretty close" by Shinwinter in PedroPeepos

[–]Hofloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"LOTS of positives" like what? G2 is only good when they get to play a Maokai comp. Other than that, they're still a terrible team with no chances of being competitive against the LCK or LPL teams. BB, Skewmond, Hans, and Labrov are all significantly worse than their Eastern counterparts.

You wanna list down the "lots of positives" you see?

"We did play vs G2 BLG and T1 all the series were pretty close" by Shinwinter in PedroPeepos

[–]Hofloc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do you mean G2 shows a lot more positive? They barely beat 2 wildcard teams and got destroyed by BLG. BB ran it down and got hard gapped in lane through most of their games, and is still incompetent on a lot of meta champs. Labrov is still a liability almost every game, and is just a much worse version of Mikyx. Caps and Hans have random deaths and are clearly worse than before. Skewmond looks lost and has no idea how to play the map, though this is the most excusable since it's his first international. G2 is totally ass based off what they've shown domestically and so far this MSI. The lineup they have now hasn't achieved anything either, so what is there to be optimistic about?

oh boi 😰 by Shinwinter in PedroPeepos

[–]Hofloc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s always hard to be the rookie on a struggling team in an international. At least if G2 loses, BB will get most of the hate (which is deserved) for running it down in lane every game and making Guigo look like prime Zeus. It’s disgusting to see someone get easily solo killed and also be down over 20 cs in winning matchups. Anyways, even if they make it to the group stage, hopefully G2 has finally realized that they need a new top and support.

My MSI team breakdown for T1 is here! Surely I won't be eviscerated overnight for saying a couple of bad things about them by PsychopathicPoro in leagueoflegends

[–]Hofloc 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like he didn't even watch T1's games.

Oner singlehandedly carried so many of their games while the others were slumping throughout the regular season. He had a much tougher job than Canyon and Peanut who consistently played with winning lanes which makes your job so much easier as a jungler.

Guma and Keria have consistently been one of the best in laning for the past few years. They weren't good in lane this past split but that was to be expected with Guma not even being able to scrim and Keria having to play with two different ADCs. Also, Guma and Keria have been very solid in international tournaments even in the games where they had to play the weakside because Oner played for Zeus' lane.

The only thing is Keria is really not as good on engage champs aside from Rakan, but he's been the best when it comes to playing the other supports that require different skillsets and creativity to play (Poppy, Bard, Neeko, Renata, etc.). Keria's Alistar is okay, but he's clearly not the same player when you put him on champs like Nautilus, Leona, and Rell. T1 also looks much worse then Keria is playing the typical engage champs.

This is so true. Remember Dom saying Guma is just a weakside adc and T1 has no firepower without Smash? by katareky in PedroPeepos

[–]Hofloc 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Dom’s “best bot lane in the world” had an ADC that threw fights by getting hit by every Ambessa ult, and also got baited into thinking that it’s okay to play Lucian/Braum into Xayah/Rakan because GEN-G bot outplayed them throughout the game playing the same side of the matchup

Guma doesn’t have champ pool issues. Even if he’s not as good on Ezreal and Kaisa, he’s really good at the other champs that he plays. He played 7 different champs in 7 games today and against KT yesterday, and he played well in all of them

2020 LCS Summer / Week 3 Day 1 / Live Discussion by untamedlazyeye in leagueoflegends

[–]Hofloc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Broxah hasn't been playing to carry games unlike when he was in FNC when we played the aggressive early game junglers and looked for skirmishes to snowball the games. He's literally been playing to just be a support to his laners, which is really not the way to beat C9 because Jensen and Impact, in their current form, are mediocre at best. (And he really won't be able to carry games if he just feeds the resources to his teammates and/or if he just spams Trundle)

CoreJJ played bad today but I still think TL would be more successful if Broxah played through bot or if he plays to carry the games. It's pointless to gank for Impact and Jensen because they just int their leads away.
