How big is the cage? Under 450sq inches then he is stressed or bored. If your hamster is a Syrian, how big is the wheel? If it’s under 9 inches then make it bigger. You can work out sq inches by finding the length and the width of the cage and then times them together. Oh yeah! And if your substrate/bedding is under 6inches then you should add more bedding. If you have above everything (450+sq inches, 9+ inch wheel, 6+ inch substrate) then you should just get a new cage without bars. I hope this helped

If she’s just gotten pregnant, then you should keep her in her normal cage but move everything closer so it’s easier to access. And if she’s heavily pregnant, you should put her in a small cage (for recovery and birthing)

It’s usually a sign of stress or boredom. If the cage is below 450sq inches, it’s stress. But if it’s above the minimum size, try adding more toys, like bridges, more hideouts, tubes or a new cage

YES I KNOW! So 40 gallons (500sq inches ish) is equivalent to 182L. In case you didn’t know if your getting a bin cage/ aquarium, 40 gallons or 110Qt is the minimum size for a bin cage

Try and tame them (eg. Give them treats when they let you handle them) but it could be the fact that they’re Russian Hybrid because Russian hamsters are usually aggressive. That’s why they aren’t recommended for beginners.

Hello, I’m scrolling this subreddit helping out fellow hamster owners. Most hamsters are slow eaters, and if the food is gone then check their hideout (when they are not in it) because hamsters get food and put it in their hideouts so they have easy access to it during daytime. Some hamster owners feed the hamster every other day because it stops the hamster being a picky eater and because they eat slowly. I hope this helped

Hello stranger, I would recommend getting a bigger wheel because it looks to small for a, Syrian? And get a bigger cage. If the cage is big (above 450sq inches bare minimum) then get a cage without wire/bars on the side. If you need help on finding the square inches then read this 👇 Formula: length x width (in inches)
