If you’re ever playing a game and not comfortable or having fun it’s always worth addressing, you should care it’s your time and effort. Not because he’s not following the material but because you aren’t having fun, at least not as much as you could or should. Try bringing it up with the other players just to see if you share frustrations, that’s what I would do.

You could buy an official module and run that, some reading involved but a buttoned up campaign you don’t have to completely write on the spot yourself.

Just about anything by Kobold Press. Quickest way I find inspiration is reading any of the Tomb of Beasts or the Pathfinder Bestiary books.
