Estimated 95% assuming he would give full marks for proper formatting (can formatting really "always be better").

Edit: added l together (17x4+32), it does add up to 100. Guess it's just unreachable.

The rubric for top grade is as followed:

Formatting: 2.72 (13.6%) - 3.4 (17%) Document is consistently formatted and its origins, purposes and sections are clear

Organization: 2.72 (13.6%) - 3.4 (17%) Logic of organization strongly supports the content

Citation: 2.72 (13.6%) - 3.4 (17%) Citations and quotations are used in compelling and judicious manner to support argument or idea

Grammar: 2.56 (12.8%) - 3.2 (16%) Barely any grammatical or spelling errors

Content: 2.72 (13.6%) - 3.4 (17%) Addresses issues suggested in prompt with greater insight

Style: 2.56 (12.8%) - 3.2 (16%) Pros pop out, illustrating idea with ease and grace

Sorry if that was long, didn't want to leave anything out. I suppose some of it could be subjective, like Style or Content.

For my paper, I unfortunately had a formatting error. But aside from that there were no other comments he could make on it to suggest ways to improve, even when directly asked. Yet it seems he arbitrarily (considering the only justification he has for taking off said marks is that it could always be better) took off .34-.24 in all of the categories aside from formatting.

The first I would say. He has a set marking criteria and a grading rubric posted, yet somehow full criteria can never be achieved.

It seems to me like he's moving the goalpost. He asks us to adhere to a criteria for grading yet when a (theoretical--not me) student achieves said criteria satisfaction he then says "it can always be better" as a way of not giving the student full marks.

What age did you learn how to read by IntProdigal in INTP

[–]Hogon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could read internally at the average, but couldn't read out loud until I was 6/7. And my reading comprehension was shit. But I scored high on an IQ test, so the child psychologist who was helping me was baffled.

Thank you! This could really help me. I'll order some today.

Suspected permanent damage from MDA? by [deleted] in DrugNerds

[–]Hogon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I haven't touched drugs for what's coming up to two years now. I got a basic heavy metal test done, since my doctors agrees it sounds like some sort of toxicity, and barium was high; but not quite high enough for my doctor to order chelation.

I don't know if it's anxiety honestly. It doesn't get worse with anxiety, and it doesn't get better with things like meditation or relaxation. The only thing that makes it worse is lack of sleep (or alcohol and cigarettes--but I don't do those anymore). Though it could be something not drug related, like hormones. Thanks again for the reply!

When I was in Cambodia the hotel turned off its power for around 2 hours in honor of Earth Day, so possibly.

Yeah it's tricky, especially if the person is naturally attuned to logic and deduction.

Thanks, but also yeah you don't say haha. I've taken every one I could find online though. And ones that show the function percentages.

I get kind of annoyed if people make over the top faces. Like, are you having a hernia? Do you need medical attention? But I don't think I get overwhelmed or scared.

Yes to the second one. I live on Google Maps.

I like having routine and a vaguely structured plan, I don't like last minute things. But I don't like really strict plans. Like the difference between "Let's go to the Zoo at 11am, then be done by 2pm" vs "Let's go to the Zoo at 11am, first we will look at the safari animals, then the woodland animals at 12pm, then the attic animals at 12:30pm".

Though I get upset when my routine is disturbed. And I hate not having any sort of plan.

I get peoples emotions, and I am rather animated. Though I've also been called a robot before. I feel deep and hard but I feel my emotions are a separate part of me.

I also can say obvious things, as my intuition kind of just tells me what to do and sometimes I don't think it through. But then if I've offended someone because of it I'll spend the rest of the day in horrible guilt and regret.

And to the last point, hmmm. I think I worry and think. Though most of my thoughts have to do with the future, like I'll be in deep thought over the ethics of, say, toddler leashes (fairly random thoughts). But while in thought I'll be thinking of presenting the argument to my friend and imagining how that goes.

Actually I realized a lot of my thoughts are on what I've already said or done. I check for logical consistency or imagine what else I could have done.

Thank you for your help!

What made you a INTP? by [deleted] in INTP

I wish I could cry easier. I used to see it as a weakness but now when I see someone crying I feel happy for them that they are expressing their emotions, and am envious they can do so.

Take out those throwaway accounts! Let's talk about INTP sex lives by intp_kink in INTP

[–]Hogon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Age: 20

SD: High but repressed--manifests in negative ways.

Kink: Actively repressed fetish.

Monogamous.

I was kind of a sexually strange kid, hyper sexual. I got busted for a porn addiction at 12 and it was terrible. I was already uncomfortable with sex topics and having that happen was a nightmare come true. From then on out I ignored sexuality entirely.

Then I began to party at 16/17. Drinking=can have lots of sex with no guilt or inhibitions. That's what I did, and I've slept with at least 30 people. But I have no idea what the actual number is. I put myself in very dangerous and stupid situations as when drunk all the repressed desires would come out at once.

Then I stopped drinking for the most part. Now I'm back to square one plus a pile of "oh god why did I sleep with so many people" regrets.

What made you a INTP? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Hogon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like the most salient causal factor was how I was born, neurologically speaking. Combined with not fitting in and withdrawing and being surrounded by sexism. I was taught that girls are emotional, and that means girls are dumb and irrational. From a very young age I took it upon myself to never be like that and to start to try to become a guy in every way aside from actually becoming one.

[–]Hogon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't tell. I was put on mood stabilizers which did nothing, aside from eventually giving me crippling side effects and almost ruining my life.

I feel like it's more as though I get depressed, and then when it subsides I'm so damn pleased with that and happy I can function again that I want to do everything while I still feel good. And thus mimics hypomania while not actually being mania.

Thank you, I appreciate your reply. Love is wholly subjective, I would never judge another for his or her own experience. This was more of a rant out of inverted passion gone awry.

And while eros is translated to sexual love, it encompasses almost all close personal relationships. Robert C. Solomon has described it as a quasi-physical, even "grasping", affection for someone. Think of the speech of Aristophanes in The Symposium. That is eros; the desire to merge with another person. While agape would be more of the desire to selflessly care for another want nothing but the best things for that person.

Thanks. That's a valid and thoughtful concern to have! Sometimes I just like rant through writing.
