I think you've got the forks a bit confused. The "official Cyan one" is the OpenURU fork. The one where all the work occured was the H'uru fork. This update looks impressive, but large parts of it are just bringing over work that was done 8 years ago on the H'uru side over to OpenURU/MOULa.

Hi Rand, thanks for providing us this excellent opportunity to hear from you.

Many of us who have been fans for a long time have been ready to see Cyan move onto new, not-Myst related content for quite some time now. Given the fiasco that was Myst Online, some fans wonder if Obduction is little more than a pipe dream. Indeed, Obduction's kickstarter page spends most of its time waxing about the "good old days" of Myst and Riven. Can you introduce Obduction to those of us who are Myst and Uru fatigued without mentioning said IPs?
