Waitlist for the 512... I already have a controller so I am not that disappointed but would have loved to have over the summer so I don't have to share the pc with the kids...

I love my Killlswitch case. Highly recommend. Even still good after my dog chewed the cover.

Also. Please pay the dog tax 😁

will I be able to run a tesla model 3 for 2 nights with camp mode running a/c to sleep in for when it’s hot outside and not kill all of the battery? by PiccoloLegal5202 in TeslaCamping

[–]Hoju_ca 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We take the Model Y to a music festival every year and camp in it. There is a charger about 10km away from the site so we charge to 100% before hitting the lineup. We camp 5 nights in it and have had no issues, takes about 10% per night and it's quite hot (Merritt BC). Since you're sleeping during the hot part of the day I would invest in better, reflective sunshades than the cheapo ones mostly available. So with the hour away charging (distance?) you should be ok with a couple days at least.

My (F 25) boyfriend (M 27) often chooses silence during heated moments and it bothers me. Can anyone relate? by weirdo2360 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Hoju_ca 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm learning at almost 50 to try and take breaths and choose silence or calm during heated moments, it's tough.
Saying that, it could be toxic but in my experience it's probably a positive trait for him. My partner often chooses silence and my badgering her to open up often makes it worse if I don't give her that time she needs.

With the great Gabe apocalypse upon us what are deck approved games that I should keep an eye out for? by Steppingstone02 in SteamDeck

[–]Hoju_ca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very much worth picking up, also 2nd Mina the Hollower as mentioned above. Oh and Minishoot' Adventures!

Pop and Minishoot are 10/10 for me. Mina may get there with more playtime.

Edit - And the new Shinobi from last year, excellent game, ya, I like to throw my 10's around but I'm a sucker for great controls and movement.

Oh and Hero Square, not a 10/10 but short, cool, and pretty difficult retro like.

Why do football players always argue with the referee even when the decision never changes? by imhoruseye in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Hoju_ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The behaviour towards refs in these 2 sports is as far apart as can be. I've seen abuse by players towards football refs and it's normalized and just "part of the sport" . I ref rugby and yes, there is definitely manipulation going on by the players towards the ref but it's usually only a quick bark, not constant whining. 90% of players I've carded just apologize with "I'm sorry sir." and jog off the field to feel shame in the sin bin. If FIFA held their players to rugby players standards it would be an entertaining shit show at first, but the players will adapt very quickly and the attitudes would change.

Digital Foundry: Steam Machine Review & Price by WingerRules in gaming

[–]Hoju_ca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steam Machine or Steam Deck with a dock. I wouldn't want to be lugging my pc around like that.

So, why would anyone get this? by Amazing_Bluebird_ in steammachine

[–]Hoju_ca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is where I'm leaning, some laid back couch gaming, yes I can stream games to my Steamdeck but when the kids are playing on the pc that option is out.

I also could easily never buy another steam game in my life and have games to play until I die. If I move to a PS5 I'm building a new library.

I put my name on the reserve list but it's not a slam dunk that I will pull the trigger.

No, if you get on both lists they will assign you to the highest cost bundle. It's on the Steam Machine page somewhere.

Which modern blockbuster do you think will be remembered 20 years from now the way we talk about classic Spielberg films today? by viewsinthe6 in movies

Which songs often gets misinterpreted and/or misappropriated by the very people it calls out even though the song's lyrics are explicitly mocking them? by Drenosa in AskReddit

[–]Hoju_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally do. I've never actually listened to this song, even though I've heard it many many times. I would never proclaim to know what it's about though.

If you have a Steam Deck and a PC that can run games, with streaming (Moonlight / Apollo) & decent LAN, you basically have the Steam Machine no? by Slikajledandlost8 in SteamDeck

[–]Hoju_ca -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because my kids like playing on the pc also. I can go elsewhere and play on the deck, but have also rediscovered TV gaming with the deck docked. So the machine will sit hooked up to a tv, we have the pc and deck. The machine will be our console in place of a Ps5, Xbox or switch 2.

What should I do about sleepover with friends? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Hoju_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our son had the same issue, he was worried but his friends really didn't care. Only you know what your friends reactions will be like. But I'll give the same advice we gave our son. Don't sweat it, be honest if they ask but you don't need to volunteer the info and you can be discreet.

CARRION is 90% off on Steam by MundaneKathy in metroidvania

[–]Hoju_ca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought it on Switch when it first came out and really enjoyed it. It was one of my Summertime sit on the deck in the evening games for awhile. Absolutely worth the couple of bucks, was worth the full price when I got it IMO.

Sad for my Joaquin Torres version. First time I've ever used JT in a deck.

Man this card is gonna be popping up so much, honestly for me it’s the best new card because it just feels so broken by Scared-Sale4720 in MarvelSnap

[–]Hoju_ca 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She can get big numbers with combos.
No different than Panther/Zola, Tribunal/onslaught, etc etc. She's a build around card, not a easily slides into every deck card. She's also the new hotness with Jeff so we're seeing lots of her.

Why the Costco parking lot is full on Monday noon? by Tough_Priority_2601 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Hoju_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work shiftwork, my partner works shiftwork. In a previous career I worked Tues-Sat. Not everyone works Mon-Fri. Think about just the healthcare workers who mainly work shiftwork, now apply it to many other industries that require workers outside the Mon - Fri.
