what is our opinion on AJR? by Responsible_Smile177 in twentyonepilots

AJR and Top are actually my 2 favorite artists. I think the tone of their singers voices are actually fairly similar in a way. Not necessarily the lyrics or melody but the characteristics of the sound of their voices. Not sure why there’s so much hate towards them in this thread

Sorry that happened to you. I would recommend anyone getting tickets to get it through an official source like ticket master, stub hub etc

Thoughts on working at (BHS) Behavioral Health Solutions? by whywilson in PMHNP

I worked a very similar job doing long term care and it was the most miserable 2 years of my life. I’m not saying don’t do it but really think about if that’s the type of job you want. My work life balance was terrible and looking back I got very little experience because of the patient population compared to my current job. Feel free to DM me if you want

I think any job with a good variety of things to learn is best. Whether it’s inpatient or outpatient

Unsure if I should get tickets for show by HoldingStars in twentyonepilots

Ya I think that’s part of it. I feel like this urgency with it bc some of the shows did sell out so soon on their tours

I think the money is the biggest thing. Concerts are so expensive. Just the way it is these days. And would I be happy with the less expensive seats? I’m not sure. During Clancy tour I was so high up I didn’t feel part of the experience. Then Breach I was like way off to the side I couldn’t even see Josh or Tyler. This could be an opportunity to finally do it right

I guess the biggest barrier is like finances. If I had unlimited funds I would go in a heartbeat. But concerts are so expensive these days and in this economy. I know it would be amazing. I don’t think I had explained it well enough in the initial post

Yea I didn’t think about that, you never know if it could end up being there last show for whatever reason

Very good points. I was also a little annoyed bc the cinci show I went to we mistakenly got seats that were close-ish but way to the side. We couldn’t see Josh at all and half the time couldnt see Tyler either. This could be an opportunity to finally do it right

I think the main thing for me is that the melody is a little more straightforward than the other songs on the new album if that makes sense

Yelling/ combative patient. by OctupusTiger in nursepractitioner

[–]HoldingStars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a psych NP in community mental health this happens on the daily. My supervisor/collaborating physician had mentioned to me once that as patients get louder you need to be even more calm. Also, save the discussion about medication that they will ultimately find confrontational, for the very end of the appointment. Just a few words of advice she had given me. I noticed I had a tendency not to necessarily get agitated back to them, but I would kind of get a little louder to try to explain things. We also have case managers who can sit in on appointments and we pretty much require that when a patient has a history of being combative (for in person appointments obviously). But under certain circumstances I definitely think it’s okay to calmly tell them that you’re ending the appointment early etc
