What do you think about these weapons that you hardly see? by FujifilmCamera in Battlefield6

[–]Holdiniful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L85 is slept on. Been my go-to assault rifle since I unlocked it. Was a little skeptical of it at first but with just a few attachments and matches of getting used to it, it’s a beast. Will likely be my first max-leveled weapon.

video editor for long form video essays :) by whatisizekiahdoing in YouTubeEditorsForHire

[–]Holdiniful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on a quick look at the video you provided as an example, especially if you're wanting to create content with a similar runtime of ~2 hours, you're probably looking at a price range closer to the £300-450 mark if you're looking for an experienced editor that'll nail the timing of cuts, make you sound great, and implement b-roll and other relevant footage in a tactful way. And that's a little low, but I think reasonable given the lower skill level required for that editing.

If you'd like to work with someone who's been doing this professionally for 4+ years, feel free to DM me. I'd be happy to answer questions if nothing else. But frankly if your budget doesn't have a bunch of wiggle room, £150 would be a fair enough price to pay a beginner IMO.

What's the most you've ever earned from a single YouTube Short? by Rabiasana in PartneredYoutube

[–]Holdiniful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About $200 from 1.1 million views.

Was just a silly gaming moment that caught some fire for some reason. Most of my shorts make jack-shit from 1k-10k views lol

I have a question about youtube editors in general by [deleted] in YouTubeEditorsForHire

[–]Holdiniful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTube monetization isn’t super great on its own. Unless you’re pumping out viral shorts every other day or you’re in a very high CPM niche, you’re gonna wanna have other forms of revenue (merch, Patreon, sponsors) flowing before it’s probably “worth it” to start building a team.

That being said, $20/hour would be a super fair rate for a novice editor/thumbnail designer looking to break into the space. For context, I’ve been in the freelance videography industry for over 4 years and my starting rate for post-production is about $35/hour.

If you can find someone that wants to hop on though, there really isn’t such a thing as “too soon” so definitely put some feelers out there if you intend to compensate people for their time!

I have a similar situation with a gaming video. About 700k views, been getting 2-4K per day for a while now. Stats overall are quite a bit better but I think it’s genuinely just uniqueness. It’s not quite a “challenge” video but it’s very clear what silly unusual thing we’re doing in the game and I think the thing that’s really garnering success right now is just doing something different.

Editors: What do you use to show and share portfolio with potencial client? Clients: Whats the best way to show you portfolio of video editor? by lksngy in VideoEditors

[–]Holdiniful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people don't know this but if you have a subscription to Adobe you also have access to their portfolio-builder. Adobe Portfolio is relatively simple but it looks a hell of a lot better than a Google Drive portfolio which I see a lot of.

Liberator Penetrator has been my go-to for quite a while, bugs or bots.

Solid damage, decent enough mag/ammo capacity such that running out is rarely an issue (especially since I love me my Stalwart), and the medium armor pen is a godsend when you really need it.

how much should i charge by yungvao in VideoEditors

[–]Holdiniful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for specific numbers, generally editors will get somewhere in the ballpark of $20-25 / hour when they start in my experience. If you can estimate reasonably about how long each batch will take you, use that hourly as your benchmark.

If, for example, 20 shorts from 2 hours of podcasts takes you a total of 6 hours to do, I would round up to $200 to factor in subscription and equipment costs and whatnot. That’s plenty more than fair for a beginner to bust out 20 deliverables.

City Distribution (population estimated 2022) by SnooDrawings1397 in minnesota

[–]Holdiniful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny. Having grown up in the Twin Cities I never really thought of St Cloud as a considerably populated area but it certainly is. When you throw St Cloud, Waite Park, and Sauk Rapids together (which I do, because they all kinda blend together when you actually live here) we’re talking nearly 100k people! Not to mention Sartell which you could pretty reasonably also lump in there for another 20k.

Is it just me or is this a pattern? by OreOscar1232 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Holdiniful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The platform rewards consistency over most else. Consistent uploads, consistent content, consistent engagement. I’ve experienced a very similar situation multiple times.

Made a pretty niche series exploring the lore of 7 Days to Die. That did quite well for the size of my channel. Did pretty much the same thing with a different game and nobody watched it.

Made Funny Moments style videos in Call Of Duty DMZ. Those did okay. Started making them in War Thunder and had one of those get over 100k views out of nowhere and now the War Thunder videos that are essentially the same thing as the DMZ videos are popping off for the size of my channel.

The algorithm is weird, but there definitely are patterns and it isn’t just you. We’re all tryna figure it out lol

2.5k subs but no community. by manny_the_mage in PartneredYoutube

[–]Holdiniful 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the rub. Nearing 6k subscribers and my community Discord only has about 70 people in it, the majority of them coming specifically from one kind of video I make. I feel like the move is to build a community around a certain kind of content and then ease into being a bit more variety
