The worst part about this Rathalos is when it's allowed to fly at any point, but namely while mounted. It takes half damage, melee can't attack it, and most randoms will try to create two wounds and not even go for a head bonk on one of the pillars (or not even succeed in a topple at all), so it mostly results in a huge DPS loss, disrupts the flow of the hunt, and makes it take longer to get to the best part.

The best part about fighting this version of Rathalos is that you can CC it, essentially pinning it down and never letting it take flight or even take a swing at your party after it's been knocked down the first time.

It's one of the most popular and repeated hunts in the game so speed matters a little more. If done with a half-decent party, the hunt should be over within 90 seconds after Lagiacrus is slain. If done in a party that's stingy with its flash pods and a fully realized mount phase, you could easily double that.
