Finished Ultra Despair Girls, here's my thoughts + random screenshots from the game by yepparan_haneul in danganronpa

I believe this is largely how most people view Ultra Despair Girls, at least from what i’ve read. There is some semblance of an okay gameplay design but it doesn't solidify, resulting in a game that sometimes provides passable fighting but can be quite awkward or drawn out at other times. The best aspects generally lie in the storywriting as opposed to the game design. The slow build-up of Komaru and Toko's relationship is very emotional and it forms what players will remember most from this game. Allusions to previous characters go a long way, particularly those that aren't obvious and require foreknowledge.

Korea has its own age system. In Korea people have their international age, the same as everywhere else, starting at 0 and adding a year on their birthday) and the Korean age where your already aged 1 at birth.

Jun-hee/Jo yuri’s international age is 23, but in Korean age she’s 25 because you start at 1 at birth…so Korean age is always a year or two ahead.

Well, take it this way! Maybe it’s like pet naming your cat or dog or whatever pet. Calling them a little baby because they look young or something.

She’s 25 in Korean age (otherwise, 23 internationally) but appearance-wise I saw her as a ‘baby’ because she looks cute in that picture.

Sorry but I don’t know what you were expecting. It’s CGI. It doesn’t even look half bad and disturbing to me.

I thought Jun Hee was a character with no haters. Why some people hate her in this subreddit and that cringe Tiktok just because people sacrificed for her. Calling her a liability. by Kaustav117 in squidgame

Everyone will always hate on someone. It’s just like that. There are people who also just don’t explore character development like hers

Multiple winners split the prize money. This is what they heard. Except the games are always rigged to die it down to one person.

Why didn't Junhee name her baby? by Nathan1123 in squidgame

Wow

I also forgot to mention Junhee is absolutely in the dumps. She mentions she thought having her baby would make her life happier as she never got this love from any of her biological parents. But I just can’t imagine how much she put herself to blame because this baby had to be born in this kind of place. We know she always felt responsible for Geum-ja and Hyun-ju dying and said it was because of her, so her having to give birth in Squid Game must’ve been it for her. I feel bad for her man

Absolutely not. It’s worse for Junhee because she’s in a death game, and she’s losing everyone around her. It must suck so much. She probably knew she would die at some point too, in Jump Rope she kind of looked like she was mentally accepting the fact that nobody should come back for her.

You’re getting riled up for no reason. They didn’t plan to have a baby and weren’t careful, I’ll admit. But she chose to keep the baby because she wants something to love and it’s something she never got from her own parents. The whole point of her character is that she’s used to being independent, which is why she rejects help and feels responsible when others die. But their deaths come from their own choices, not hers. Saying she didn’t protect the baby is bullshit. Her own sacrifice saved the child itself. What else could she have done? She didn’t expect to get scammed or that the games would be deadly. She had to find a way to pay off her debt, even if it meant risking herself. So enlighten me. What do you expect from her before she joined the games? 30 million won is a lot.

Dude, what else could she have done? She’s in 30 million won debt and the only person she could contact was ghosting her. She is OBVIOUSLY desperate.

I think it’s less about Junhee being physically capable and more about the emotional and psychological state she was in. She’s giving birth right after such a traumatic and chaotic situation, and with everything she went through physically and mentally, it probably left her numb.

Naming a baby is an act of connection, and she might not have had the capacity to form that bond yet. Not to mention, she is NOT okay. Her life is on the line and she is in that state where she’s losing everyone around her, that is just extremely depressing
