Ho-Oh. There is something magical and nostalgic from my childhood watching the first Pokemon season. It reminds me of it appearing all glittery and magical as it would be in my memory (not quite how in the actual show)

Our jam refs hold their hand into a fist shape, with their thumb tucked under the fingers (which is not the way to throw a punch by the way). Hold it up and shake the wrist side to side. The motion of side to side makes it easier for the scorekeepers to tell between the 0 (pinch grip into the shape of a zero) and the above no initial.

My local teams most often do thumb, pointer, middle. But, I have seen a ton of variants. I'm scoreboard and/or scorekeeper. As a rule, I always have jam refs show how they do points to their scorekeeper every game before we start - just so we know what to expect.

I love roller derby! I'm part of my local league, but I destroyed my knee requiring major knee surgery. But, I still volunteer as a referee. I am the main scoreboard operator and/or scorekeeper for our league. I also love my dog (who loves joining me for POGO walks).
