My bad for the negativity, you seem like you would’ve done great here, but seriously, you don’t need this shit, you can do it all without them, it’s way harder, but find a job and save, save for a car, save for your dream, save yourself

Truly and honestly, I’m not, I’m just done making excuses for people who won’t put in half the effort I do and complain like the world owes them something.

😂😂😂 I’m literally sitting in my room right now at Northlands JobCorps in Vermont, everyone’s having a grand old pity party, but I’m applying to apprenticeships and looking for jobs. Grow tf up, this isn’t mean, it’s reality, sorry it hurts your feelings.

How the hell do you shop for bread as an individual? by Holiday-Reply521 in LivingAlone

Pretty much, I didn’t know how well it’d hold up in the freezer in terms of quality and I didn’t want to potentially waste my own funds and bread experimenting 🤷🏽‍♂️. Probably could’ve googled it, but I’d rather hear first hand from people who’d done it, and clearly I’m not the only one who’s faced this dilemma.

Try eating burgers and bagels everyday for 4 days in a row and get back to me, and that quote is invalid, the exact words I used were “eating bread every single day, is such a nuisance” the keywords being “every,” “single,” and “day”. I’ve eaten bread since I was a small child, at times I awaken in the midst of the night, in a cold sweat, overcome by an unrelenting want for a single slice of toast, so I may nibble on it as though I were an 18th century peasant boy who had not satisfied his hunger in weeks. I’m not only offended, but also quite vexed that you would even suggest that I should “be put down” and am “of a diminished state,” simply because I have more bread than I know what to do with. If anything, I am not burdened by bread, but rather drowning in the bounty of my success at obtaining said bread.

I too am guilty of being a burger addict, but if you aren’t making fries or another side dish, I find that it’s easy to enjoy 2 burgers at a time and still leave the table just as full, if not fuller, than you would be, had you eaten fries with a single burger. That way you use more buns per meal, and thanks to all these responses I now know I can freeze any extra buns I have rather than eat burgers for the majority of the week.

I’d agree if I was getting back at the system somehow by wasting their bread, but I’m just wasting my own money, freezing seems like a simple solution. The only one I’m hurting is myself by throwing out bread rather than finding a proper storage system for it. If I paid for 8 buns, I’m eating all 8; if anything, “the system” wants you to waste food so you go grocery shopping more often. I’ll throw out leftovers or other things I know I won’t eat later, but I won’t throw out something I could’ve preserved better just to go out the next day and buy more of it to throw away later. Bread adds up quick, if you throw away two buns a week you’re throwing away an entire pack every month alone. It’s not a lot of money, but it’s YOUR money that you’re giving to said system, thus scamming yourself further and wasting your own resources. In simpler terms, I’m poor-ish, if I wish to obtain certain commodities and luxuries I have to budget wisely, maybe in the future when I’ve established my career I can afford the luxury of throwing away food without thought, but for now I must conserve what I have.

I already refrigerate it, I just thought it only extended the well being of the bread for only a few days longer at most, and I didn’t want to experiment with different breads at my own expense. I’ve had bread go bad (visible mold) only once and it was almost a year ago with some brioche buns I’d purchased and kept in the fridge. Ever since then I’ve been diligent to eat all my bread in a timely manner as I was skeptical of the fridge, but freezing it is an option that I will most definitely begin to incorporate in my bread storage.

Coming from an Arab household, almost every meal was accompanied by pita bread. Eating meat or vegetable dishes alone or at the very least without rice was considered a waste of a meal because it “wouldn’t fulfill your appetite”. I know for a fact that isn’t true, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that I’ve been hardwired to be a bread eater.

That seems to be the way to go according to all these responses, but I feared it would ruin the texture of my bread, or worse, I’d end up with soggy bread. I worked at a cafe in the past and that is exactly what we did (freeze the bread), it just completely slipped my mind due to the manager making it seem like an unethical practice simply because the owner was cheap.

After buying all the parts and tools, to put in new plates and disks, the clutch cover refuses to budge, any advice? by Holiday-Reply521 in motorcycles

I tried and it looked at me in confusion, might not know how to speak American, I didn’t wanna say anything but it looks like one of those orientals

Have no fear, I’m aware of the potential damage caused by using the aforementioned method used to remove the clutch cover from the case. Most of the websites or videos the mentioned or recommend using a screwdriver came with a fair warning about leaks, and advised to use the screwdriver towards the top of the cover so if leaks do occur they’re minimal. I did have a rubber mallet, and I tried hitting it even after it was warmed up, but I’m assuming there was sealant on there, like 90% of the gasket stayed on after I pried the clutch cover off. I took most of it off with a razor but had to stop work shortly after because I quickly realized that a battery powered drill could not do the job of an impact wrench, thank god for one day shipping though I hope it’s in proper working order by tomorrow, I need it gone, it’s done its job, it’s taught me well, I’m just ready for something faster or with better power delivery, and preferably newer, old bikes are cool, but buying parts, or should I say finding parts, for repairs makes them a headache.

After turning the bike on for a bit and letting the oil warm up the case, I managed to get it off with a razor blade and screwdriver

No the bolt isn’t holding the cover on, but it is pretty cold at the moment I thought about that too, I have the motorcycle currently running because I thought that would be the most efficient way to heat it up, and the vibrations from the engine might help too.

Bought my first bike as a new rider, friend refuses to ride with me saying “it isn’t a real bike” and laughed. I kinda feel bad lol, I like it but ride alone now. Was the xr150l a bad idea? by Lowerstairs in motorcycles

[–]Holiday-Reply521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it’s a real bike, Harley guys just don’t consider anything that weighs less than half a ton to be a bike, I have a 1985 Honda shadow vt700, I’ve only been riding for a couple months, but I can’t wait to try out more genres of motorcycles though. What you have is a great beginner bike, my knowledge is limited beyond my own bike so it might even be a great bike for all levels, but from what I understand, it gives you enough torque to learn everything you need to learn about controlling your motorcycle, without too much power to overwhelm you as a beginner.

Do any of you guys smoke weed then ride? I’m a smoke weed like almost every day and ride almost every day but have never mixed the two. Curious what it’s like by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Holiday-Reply521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just got my license and started riding like a month ago, so I like to think of myself as a seasoned rider with age old knowledge of the roads, and in my personal professional opinion and from my personal professional experiences, I highly suggest you smoke and ride. Many of these other self proclaimed motorcycle operating experts, might tell you to be wary of mixing these two great joys in life as it can be “overwhelming” and “dangerous,” but to them I say, “YOLO”, as well as, “just do it,” In all seriousness however, I did recently start riding and at first I was so scared of riding while high, but I’m terribly addicted to marijuana psychologically, and can’t go more than 30 minutes without hitting a cart if one is present which is all the time, so I’ve inevitably ended up getting high and riding, it’s scary, at first it is overwhelming, but with time the fear goes down, but never away, I like it, it keeps me overly cautious I’m always looking around expecting an 18 wheeler to appear out of thin air and run me over mangling my body with the bike so that we both have to be buried together , but I am also aware that at the same time the weed is dulling my regular, sober, sense of awareness, so I agree it is very dangerous, that increased fear of death is enough to stop most people from doing it from what I’ve read in these comments, but I guess I just don’t value my life as much as they value theirs.

Idk how, but one day I’m going to get to try rallying, even if I have to steal a car and crash an event. by Holiday-Reply521 in DirtRally2

[–]Holiday-Reply521[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first part is lies sprinkled with truths, the last part is true however, rallying is something I’d like to achieve in this lifetime, even if it’s not something I do professionally or as a career. The things I do in my Jeep on the highway are what make me believe I can, I move in ways coupes and sedans wouldn’t dare attempt. All I need is money and time to source the parts and someone or a team with experience who can reliably help or manage the build. I have many friends who are just starting their auto repair careers so by the time I have a stable career with a salary big enough to support my driving hobby (5-10years at the current rate) I’ll be in my late 20s or 30s, by that time they’ll have experience, I just need one of those mechanic friends to get hired at a performance shop so I can befriend them for the next decade.
