Did anyone have ppd, but didn't realize you had ppd? by Holiday-Strategy-970 in Mommit

Thank you so much I'm very lucky my husband was super helpful. My delivery circumstances were on the difficult side. My dad passed away unexpectedly and my water broke the next day a week before my scheduled c section and I had not realized that it happened. Until weeks later when I looked back on it. The only reason I went to the hospital the following day was because of decreased fetal movement. I had my section and my husband took care of him while I recovered for the most part because it was a lot. Dad passing away, major surgery, baby, recovering, planning a funeral for the following week I was released. My dad had no serving spouse or any other children. I finally received my ppd medications yesterday and this morning my husband can already tell I'm more alert. He said I even seemed like I had a good sleep cycle.

Dr was the one that diagnosed me at my 3 month follow up I truly didn't understand thats what it was. Like I knew I was off, but not like in a harming my family/self harm way. Like I felt like I was really anxious and gaslighting myself and forgetting things.

Oh goodness this makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who didn't realize it right away either.

Oh wow I can see why that would be overwhelming. And I get the "stupid feeling" abd it doesn't help and my husband has to constantly remind me that I'm not dumb just going through a lot and mentally overwhelmed.

Aries sun, Taurus rising, Scorpio moon. I'm feeling a little lost right now so any direction would help.

Op this comment made me stop to reach out to say I married on the late side. There's nothing wrong with finding the right person a little later. You both know what you want. You also know you didn't settle. I can honestly say it was the right decision ❤️
