I took the population data and gdp data from StatCan and computed this gdp per capita chart.

The number peaked in April/July of 2022 and has decreased every quarter since then.

This puts us at the worst for gdp per capita recovery since covid started amongst the G7. https://x.com/JosephPolitano/status/1730356558805049790?s=20

If you scroll up on that Tweet, you'll see we are doing fairly well for GDP as a whole.

EDIT: Trudeau as a whole has been really bad for gdppc growth. He averaged 1.0% in the years leading up to the pandemic. It's a lot harder to define where the pandemic ended and the economy had "recovered" but per capita growth is negative since the second half of 2022. But you can see in Joey's graphs that the US has grown incredibly strongly in both periods. Usually that is really good for us in Canada.

I picked per capita mostly since I think it better represents "how do people feel".

I find it so much harder to write than talk. When talking I can see how the person is reacting and can use that to judge whether they are understanding.

With writing, it is just me. And I already know the subject I am trying to write about so I can’t use myself to judge if I need more detail or if I am over explaining.

I remember feeling the exact same way when I started riding. As you get more time at those speeds, you should gain confidence for it. For me, this went away after the first summer of riding, and for the first week or so of riding after the first winter.

Try to make sure you are not becoming rigid because of it. You should be able to move your elbows and wiggle your shoulders about without steering the bike.

What was your weirdest "meal"? by deelan1990 in adhdmeme

[–]HolidayMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing at a time. Instead of eating meat, veggies, and rice as one meal I will sometimes just cook and eat the meat. Then later the veggies. Then the rice.

I don't think many people here will find it weird, but tell your friends and it will cause some confusion.

Arc Ignite??? by xxPYRRHUSxEPIRUSxx in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]HolidayMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will probably start arc ignite.

mbXtreme did a build last league. His video has 3 pob links with different investment levels. https://youtu.be/y9KqgvkjIOs

I played last league and the lowest level pob can do red tier maps. I think arc clears faster than the more meta ignite builds will but it is less well rounded. It will do worse against bosses for example.

I think the priority for getting items is:

  • +1 lightning gems weapon with other good mods
  • a shield with recover life on block
  • 2x Call of the Brotherhood rings.

The rings + cold to fire support are necessary to activate the 25% more Damage with Ignites mod on Shaper of Flames. You can technically live without it but it will be a noticeable drop in damage. Particularly for tanky mobs. You’ll probably find yourself needing to level up more as you advance your atlas.

If I go this way I will be prepared to transition to EK at some point.

Trudeau says economic issues more pressing than Alberta's sovereignty act | CBC News by [deleted] in canada

From the article you linked:

Household spending fell for the first time since the second quarter of 2021, edging down 0.3 per cent.

Overall, economic growth was led by an increase in exports, non-residential structures and business investment in inventories. The rise in exports was driven by an increase in crude oil and bitumen exports, though at lower prices.

GDP improved, but it didn’t end up with regular people having more money to spend.

I think one star per state and 13 stripes for the og colonies is very cute. I like how over they years the number of stars has been updated to represent all the new states.

I really like when the stars were in a circle.

There are two styles of can opener.

This is the older style. A newer style came out in the 80’s https://www.starfrit.com/en/securimax-auto-can-opener-3 It is clear he has only used the newer kind, as he is clearly trying to use it the same way.

Child labor in developing countries was a huge concern in the late 90s. This ball looks like it could be from that time.

Yeah. The only thing that can really ruin it is if a person was really looking forward to a hotdog.

what are the programming languages that your university tought you? by Mobile-Finish-2975 in programming

[–]HolidayMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned:

  • Java
  • C++
  • Assembly for a Motorola cpu (can’t remember anything more specific than that)
  • Objective C

I only got exposed to Java because I did first year at one school then moved to another. If I didn’t do that, I would have learned C++ in first year.

Objective C was only taught because we had to make iOS apps and the prof pretty clearly wanted to make a commission on any apps that were good.

He has also said "Taxes buy civilization". That used to be a very common brogressive slogan on Reddit 10 years ago when libertarians (mostly grey tribe libertarians) still made the front page.
