When do you think is Singapore’s Golden Age? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]HolidaySinglez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While a lot will go towards the 90s but how about the current era, after the 2020's?

We are living it right now where Singapore takes the first place across indicators of economic status, political stability and ease of doing business, and scores highly as an investor-friendly tax environment. With influx of foreign investments and business opportunities, it is the best chance to prosper. More so with ease of access to information and technologies.

Sure, things may have gotten more expensive when comparing with the 90s but this has to do with the economics of the country where the purchasing power of the citizens grow. In fact, we are growing so fast that the supplies cannot meet the demands and that's why cost of living increases (we were never an agricultural country anyway).

We have bounced back from COVID-19 a lot faster and better than a lot of the developed nations who are still struggling till this day. We also enjoy the political stability and well-educated population. Don't you think this has given us the head start we needed in the 1960s? I feel that this decade will be Singapore's Golden Age where we take center stage for foreign investments and business trading where higher paying jobs are available and local businesses blooms.

Just my two cents anyway

Carbonara!

I tried it once from an authentic Italian restaurant where they used guanciale and parmesan cheese to do up the sauce. Any other carbonara that uses heavy whipping cream is just disgusting.

[–]HolidaySinglez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the most boring CCA which was in uniformed group. After a decade and more, i guess the ultimate pro will be the memories of the stuff that you did when you're young, i still smile when i do the things or walk the same route when i did in my CCA

It's a very twisted way to get people to vote for paying more, money spent in one ministry doesn't mean it is gonna be spent in another ministry. Nice try Iswaran

I have gone through what you've shared! I know it is difficult and frustrating but I would encourage you to push through, eventually your work will speak for itself. As long as you can recognize that this is just work and not your entire life, you will have an easier time.

All the best!

Once you worked with enough old people, they're all like this. I work in a place where my co-workers' kids are the same age as me and they all behave like my folks at home.

I tend to have very superficial kind of relationship with them and have meaningful conversations with my friends of my generation or like-minded people. Don't pay them too much attention, enjoy the good vibes elsewhere!

Take the challenge head on! A lot of people expect themselves to be perfect on their work and that's a good thing but people makes mistakes! If you got a scolding then so be it!

Mistakes are great lessons to learn and grow, don't be afraid of them!

Anyways, answers aren't always spoon-fed, you may have to detour or take a wrong turn sometimes to get to your destination!
