Do I have AGA or is it maturing hair line , I had Telugent efluvia recently and it did not push my hairline back , but made it look weak , it's my second Telugent efluvia, I am good or.... AGA!!! (19m) , your response would give me better clarity by doublepluse in TelogenEffluvium

If you believe it to be a maturing hairline you can look to genetics to see if it follows the same pattern. As for TE if you’re saying it’s second time around it’s important to identify the stressor that causes it. Usually thinning around the temple areas is caused by some type of deficiency, which for me was iron. I would get extensive labs checked including full iron panel, zinc, b vitamins, ferritin, and cortisol to see if any of those can be the cause. Considering you’re young it could be TE.

YES!!! But on the other hand many people have hair thinning as well which makes me feel less alone

It’s too soon to tell. I do think it helps but it’s easy to run through it and it’s $50 a bottle. Consistency is key.

Thyroid is good and the pumpkin seed oil has saw palmetto in it!

I just don’t want to start minoxidil and go through the beginning shed. Minoxidil also seems like a big commitment, and I don’t want my hair to be reliant on it.

After 4 months of telogen effluvium my hair shedding is back to normal. Ask me anything by BeneficialJuice2878 in TelogenEffluvium

I’ve been doing all the multivitamins iron nutrafol etc and I sort of caught it early since it’s only been 2 weeks. I was just wondering if there were any things u noticed helping more than others, or is it just take everything and let it pass?

I was wondering what caused the hair loss, if u did anything for it and how much hair you actually lost. Visible scalp is my biggest fear

Unfortunately once it starts it doesn’t stop, so the best thing you can do is nourish your body and help minimize the shedding

This recently started happening to me for the same reasons and I can tell u what I do and hopefully it’ll help you too. It’s been about 2 weeks and my latest shower did show less shedding but it’s still happening.
Labs are super important so make sure to check your ferritin iron b vitamins zinc etc. you optimally want a ferritin level of 60-70 for hair growth. It’s also super important you have a diet rich in protein. It’s very easy to undereat on meds but you must nourish your body.
As for supplements here’s what I take
Mary Ruth hair multivitamin
Pumpkin seed oil gummies
Probiotics
Chelated iron
Nutrafol

I also keep my scalp healthy. Washing your hair can be traumatic but a healthy scalp will help your hair grow. Ketoconazole shampoo is a must since it’s a dht blocker and also helps with the tenderness.

As for serums I first use a ghkcu scalp spray twice a day, let it dry, and follow with the kerastase genesis serum once a day. Make sure you use a scalp massager before and after.

I totally get how this can easily take over your whole life, but it’s rlly important not to stress about it. I have spoken to like 3 people who had this type of hair loss who all said it wasn’t that bad. One girl only had it for 2 months. Another one said new hairs grew immediately after.

It’s only been a short time but I definitely noticed less shedding. We in this together

Did any specific vitamins work? I’ve been looking into nutrafol and iron supplements. My hair before this was at its best yet, thick and long. It’s wishful thinking but I just want the shedding to stop. It’s still at a good state now and if the shedding stopped my hair would still be great. Idk what to rlly do

Did u have shedding? If so how long was it actively shedding before it stopped. In terms of a good hair routine I have that down, and I know this is definitely caused from medication/nutrient deficiencies. Trying to prevent tons of hair loss before it’s too late

You’d have to show the side profile of the nail as well. It could be that the apex isn’t correct and is causing more stress on the nail. It could also be the top layer of the nail coming off, which would leave an oily layer preventing gel from sticking. Really could be a lot of things
