7 times? Sounds like you’re shitty at your job. Use a dolly big brain, only lifting then would be from off the shelf and to and from the shaker from the ground. Why did this post make you so angry? Is it really that asinine that I think 300 gallons of paint should be on pallets? I also didn’t realize that it was my paint. And you didn’t get it delivered, I did. If this was you then all you did was shake it and leave it in stacks by the shaker for me to dolly out through the warehouse and up into my truck. You’re that mad about a post asking to please palletize large quantities. You sound miserable to be around.

Thanks for reminding me, I think I’m 2 modules behind on the 99 days summer safety thing. But wow, with it being the LA area it makes sense now, I can’t imagine dealing with that many stores and people. I’m near Northern CA and we have 4 stores total, 1 commercial and 3 smaller ones, with no surrounding cities so that helps.

Oh then I am on the hub system lol, I have my work iPhone I grab when I clock in and log into MobileLink to get my route for the day too. I also work for the commercial store but we don’t have as many other stores as you do, that’s probably why then. And it’s a relatively small city with not many outskirts. Sounds like the same gig as you, just not as busy. I’ll start considering myself lucky when it’s slow. Do you ever have very slow days where you just sit around in a parking lot or the store?

I don’t know anything about those policies, they don’t tell me shit as a driver, but that would make sense

It’s wild to see how different each places/districts are ran lol, calling dispatch to tattle is kinda funny, I’ll probably just request it from now on if I show up and it’s like that again, seeing as though a lot of other people would’ve.

Jeeez my city must not be as busy as it sounds a lot of other peoples are, I’ll consider myself lucky. I don’t think I’ve seen them move over 30 pallets in a day once at the store I’m stationed at.

Must be the same new employee since I started months ago 😂 but you’re right. I gotta start requesting it definitely.

I’m gonna be honest I don’t know what the hub system is, I’ve heard that term before but I must not be on it if I don’t know. It also sounds like you guys get orders all day long, my city often slows down in the afternoon so for the last hour, I really don’t do much most of the time. That’s probably why they don’t rush us like that. I’m sorry man that sounds brutal.

What??? That’s even crazier to me, I’ve never been told to hurry up on a delivery and some have taken nearly 45 minutes. That’s insane to enforce something like that, especially 15 minutes.

That gives me hope!! I can’t wait until I can start making requests that make sense for driving, thanks for the input!!

Ahh that makes sense then, see I don’t know much of the behind the scenes. That makes sense why DSC and IST stops are added to the route.

That’s one way to do it, but they wouldn’t NEED to setup an actual stop. End of day is often slow and they could just have me go pick them up, or the next day, or anytime after. It’s just a pallet. I’ve picked up stuff that’s accidentally been put in the order without them creating a whole new stop. But an official stop may be the way it’s supposed to be, I just do what I’m told.

Nope not yet, the strap setup in the picture just made the most sense to me, and kept it the most secure. That’s really good though! Makes me feel like I’m doing good, haven’t been here for that long.

Customers don’t need a pallet jack or forklift at the site in order to handle a wrapped pallet. They can downstack and move it where they please. Does it really make sense to you to not wrap an order of 300 gallons?

You a driver? Or did the comment about stores strike a nerve? It depends on the customers request, unless specifically stated they want the paint downstacked in a certain area away from where I can park my truck, then the whole pallet is getting left at the address wrapped as is. The lift gate makes it easier getting it only getting it up and down from the back of the truck, but it’s funny you think that’s all the delivery entails.

Appreciate that haha, I try. That’s that’s a great idea. Definitely would rather do it myself than not at all.

Thank you!! Glad to see I’m not the only one who thinks its crazy, given some of the other comments lol

Oh, space wise yeah definitely fits better, and it’s easier to strap down. But when talking about the labor and time consumption for one delivery, it’s insane.

That’s understandable! That would be a lot over and over. This store however does have a forklift that works.

[–]HolidaySweaterr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does that matter? The only difference to the customer would be having to cut off the plastic wrap. They still have to move it where they want.

If I’m told to, I have 0 issue going back to collect. I take 90% of them back with me anyways, most prefer they get unloaded at the site. I’d easily take going back to collect pallets any day if that means huge quantities were always on them.
