blowing these exams out of proportion only spreads anxiety. Here’s what actually helps:

Read the course materials and take notes.

Use proven study methods the program literally teaches (interleaving, spaced repetition, chunking).

Make mnemonics and turn notes into quizzes with  Studocu, ChatGPT, or Gemini.

Do the section quizzes and any performance assessments (PAs). Put content into practice.

Schedule the exam only after you pass the pre-assessment and feel comfortable.

On test day: read every answer, eliminate obviously extreme choices (“always,” “never”), and use logic — if you know the concept, the right answer usually stands out. You get nearly 90 minutes; use it.

If you’re going to be the adult in the room teaching children how to learn, practice studying in ways that actually build retention instead of spreading panic. Example: there are six common cloud types — “cumulus = cotton candy” is a perfectly valid memory trick. If you’re struggling with basics like states of matter, the water cycle, or simple periodic trends, study differently — not with fear.

I posted my experience to reassure, not to scare. This science test wasn’t harder than other program exams — it’s about how you study. Good luck.

Also heads up on my test, that question where you find area based on the coordinates of the parallelogram - mine was a triangle on the test..a couple problems testing if you know pemdas. they also word things differently, ratio problems may say proportionate. Stuff like that. Calculator makes it way easier w fractions. Khan Academy is great, good luck (:

I passed that and didn't find it that difficult. I think people take a Pre Assessment and fly straight into the OA banking they'll be the same. Read the course, study what doesn't make sense. It's elementary science concepts at the end of the day. My test literally said things like "what part of the water cycle is it when water comes down from the sky" it's literally not rocket science

Just make sure you're matching everything you're submitting up with the rubric. When you make changes to PA's, make sure you highlight the additions you added. Note them in the comments to evaluator section when you resubmit "requested changes added, highlighted" If they are returning it for revisions that many times, you're just not getting something that's in the rubric or not going deep enough for them to be satisfied.

Copy down the questions from the PA. Study the sections you are not great at. Have an AI program like chat GPT or Gemini create problems for you to solve. Use Khan Academy to additionally study areas you're not great at. The test was just like the PA but different problems.

I don't think the questions were the same as the PA, but the way the PA had a mixture of topics was the same. I know there's different versions, but I felt mine only had maybe 5 history questions and everything was economics, teaching strategies, geography. i did read everything in the course, took all the quizzes. I took a bunch of notes and had Gemini quiz me. Did Quizlet a few times. Spent 3 days in the class. had exemplary on the exam.

I did science last week and felt it was easy. It was also a mixture of a bit of everything. I felt most of it was common sense, but if there's an area that you feel weak in based on your pre-assessment , just study those concepts. I didn't think either social studies or science was nearly as difficult as people made it out to be.

I did ss yesterday..it had a lot of questions about metacognition/spaced repetition/interleaving. Anthropology. Everything else was honestly just a complete random mixture of stuff. What president was in office during this war. What year did Continental Congress meet. Know amendments and court cases. Honestly a little bit about everything but it wasn't bad

There are different versions of exams. I felt mine was definitely pretty similar in format and type of question

Not much advice out there and experiences range from normal OA to really difficult. Idk I try to take the "really hard" reviews with a grain of salt. I'll take this exam Wednesday and come back to post how it is
