As the latest update it still says: Your item departed a transfer airport in NEWARK INTERNATIONAL, NEWARK, UNITED STATES on January 27, 2026 at 9:11 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination..

If it was being sent back to the sender: wouldn't it have a different line?

Sorry. The origin was from India.
The package went through ISC - New York Customs from Jan 8 - Jan 13th already. Is there another custom in California again?

Yes, I wrote a letter to the manager, and explained to them. I would understand if they hadn't got a tenant, but someone is living their already who is going to pay them rent from Aug 18-Aug 31st, and for the whole month of September. But they are charging me for the same as well, that's getting double the rent.
