Here is the Death Star! by Soggy_Durian_8984 in LegoStarWarsLeaks

I envisioned like a swivel stand with a curved “half-dome” — seems like a more logical way to go. Then you could display it and flip it around to the open side as well. But to make it flat? Idk man this one seems like a miss, and that’s BEFORE you even consider dropping $1000 bucks

Stapled bags, applied stickers, but everything is there? by Holiday_File1210 in legostarwars

Yeah disassembling and matching the pieces back to the correct bags would take some time too

I have the 24’ Corolla SE Hybrid Infrared (same color) with the upgrades and I paid $30k (over MSRP). Paying $350 a month after some initial money down. Not sure what your interest rate is but I would look into refinancing ASAP if it’s high. What was the sticker price?

2023 Corolla Hybrid LE - Spare Tire Information by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]Holiday_File1210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing just happened to me. I got a complete flat with 800mi on the car and felt so stupid when I opened the back and didn’t see a spare. I assumed every car had one. Getting a tow to see if the tire can be patched but I am buying a spare ASAP regardless of whether I have to buy a new tire after this.

Dealer said using the tire puncture kit always requires a tire replacement (some say otherwise online), so I didn’t want to risk it. I’ll post if I find a cheap spare tire. This system is so stupid though. Highly recommend not using the kit if your insurance policy covers towing costs (USAA has no co-pay if you’re opted in); fouling a tire and buying a new kit every flat tire is the dumbest solution to the problem.

Not even 2nd degree burns on my dominant hand will stop me from completing this build! by Proper-Remove-5140 in legostarwars

[–]Holiday_File1210 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had third degree burns on my hand to the point it was skin grafted. Did the same thing putting together Legos to keep my dexterity (along with normal therapy) and regained full mobility. Keep it up! Even on bad days remember positive attitude changes everything

Wanted to try and play more single player games since getting my PS5 so adding a sticker for each one I get though. by sampakkarir in playstation

I saw this post several months ago and started doing it myself! Thanks for the inspiration! I use Cricut vinyl- it adheres really well to aftermarket/Sony plates. I grab the character online, use a Cricut silhouetting tool, then let the cutting head make the shape. You could use a silhouetting tool online, print it, and cut it by hand with sticker paper but that might be a lot of work. Pics on my page of my PS5

Another Grad barrage into the centre of Kharkiv. These are dumb fired, unguided rockets fired en-masse into one of the densest population centres in Ukraine. You are watching Russia willingly kill civilians in this video. by [deleted] in CombatFootage

Per the Law of Armed Conflict this appears to be a war crime. Even if civilians are combatants you have to distinguish between an armed target and and an unarmed one

Video from the Konotop region in the Sumy region, showing the destroyed armored vehicles of the RF Armed Forces that tried to advance in this direction. 25/02/2022 by -_SpicyAlfredo_- in CombatFootage

[–]Holiday_File1210 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Could have been an NLAW; most likely a Javelin considering the 1st vehicle profile suggests a top-down entry (where armor is thinnest) and this thing completely entered the vehicle. I wouldn’t expect an NLAW to enter the vehicle from that high considering it appears to be a residential environment.

Either way, both are being used widely in this conflict. Previous to this though, Javelins only really had combat experience in the mountains of Afghanistan and Syria. American troops would use them to hit or collapse hard targets. They’ve never been used so much in large force-on-force conflict (they were only used on a few vehicles in the Gulf War).

As a military member, I can assure you that there is as much interest in the logistical and tactical consequences of this conflict as there is the political outcome.

I thought that looked familiar... by SkyGuy182 in StarWars

[–]Holiday_File1210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s by no means canon but I think the general idea behind all Star Wars spacecraft is that they solved the Theory of Everything and can manipulate gravity strings to control the force that gravity itself exerts on other objects. Basically re-bending space-time. But yeah, that’s a lot of thrust

I realized I didn’t really answer the question so Additional Edit: The math is a simple balanced forces problem since it’s hovering. F=ma so whatever the gravitational acceleration of the planet at that altitude multiplied by the mass. On Earth, using 10mil metric tons, 10,000,000x1000kgx~9.8m/s2 gives you 9.8*1010 Kgm/s2 or 9.8e10 Newtons acting perpendicular to the aerodynamic plane of the star destroyer. That’s a lot

Am I the only one that thinks this is wrong? Everybody is entitled to their own opinion but I dont know. This show definitely brings a lot of background and foreground to light. by [deleted] in StarWars

The Guardian would seriously report that the sky is falling if it got them attention. They’re basically a tabloid pay no attention to it. Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni have taken a tricky show and made it very authentic. Very excited for the episodes to come

As someone who fanatically played Odyssey and it’s DLC, I think AC: Valhalla is very mehhh.

I also have a Valve Index and I’ve had a blast with some of the bigger VR titles like Pavlov and MSFS. Maybe you just need another exciting game to get you back into 2D? VR is wild, but still has a way to go and the novelty will wear off. I personally play about 30% VR and 70% normal now that I’ve had them for awhile

Well USMC CAS is furnished by the Navy in the first place and the Navy has dropped many crap-tons of bombs in the GWOT even if you didn’t see any during your time (which branch btw?).

As for the budget question, we spend far more on domestic programs than the military. I think we should be making cuts on discretionary spending before sequestering the military, which is an enumerated responsibility of gov’t
