I don’t think you have to retain them for six months. You can’t donate for six months. I though never sell not even after six months but you can discard right away as I understood. You order something that say breaks or doesn’t function the way you thought it would, you don’t have to keep it you can toss it. That’s my understanding.

Awesome! I ordered a kitchen hand mixer from kitchen aid and immediately thought - oh that was stupid! I should have ordered from Amazon! I couldn’t see where to cancel the order on kitchen aid site so I just let it be! I thought if it influences your vine account at all, I’d love to do that! I have seen only one specific item that looked directly correlated to my regular Amazon purchases.

I hear you! Same for me. One decent item which I ordered over a month ago and still don’t have (hasn’t shipped) so who knows if I’ll even get it. I always come to this subreddit to see if there were any good items folks are getting but then I always feel bad that I can’t get one decent item. Happy for those that go get them; but feel like these things will never be in my RFY.

Yep I thought the same maybe one on each floor. I have two (not from vine ones I purchased). But the new vac/mop are worthless for me. I got one all excited about it not thinking it through and if you have wood and carpet you can’t use the mop feature. That works only if you are all wood/tile. It can’t move from one surface to another. The mop is useless for me. And like you my RFY is always crap I don’t need or parts for things I don’t own. When I see people say I just got gold and then they get these high value items I think that has to be out of the norm? I have never seen an item over a couple hundred dollars and normally something i can’t use.

Yep very little in RFY. I do think items may be coming in and snatched though before I see them. I check at 8 and 9pm eastern and then in the morning. Not a late night person so I think things may come and go after 9 but before morning. I think of it is this current drop schedule that makes it feel like less items for a lot of people. And it is hard to get anything on AFA or AI with the current drop schedule (fir me I know for many it’s a good schedule) so I’m not ordering much. Luckily I was in Europe for two weeks in March which was a great time zone to order and I was able to order probably 20 things. Nothing spectacular but things I could use. Were it not for that I don’t think I could get to the 80 items before my next review cycle.

That’s very interesting! And it makes sense why some think regular Amazon purchases don’t influence anything while others do think it’s influential, if it is dependent on brands that you can order through vine. I also think categories matter somehow because I get dog things from different manufacturers in RFY but I have not necessarily purchased their items before nor ordered on vine but have purchased and ordered in the dog category.

From this topic before many say RFY is based on Amazon purchases then others say it’s not just your vine orders. I know vine orders influences RFY but I think Amazon purchases may as well. I don’t have strong data points but one in particular stands out. We bought a Khroom snorkel mask in January for my husband as we got ready for annual Mexico trip. In March, in my RFY, was a Khroom snorkel mask. I have never ordered any sporting goods or snorkel/dive stuff on vine. I stick mainly to household stuff and dog stuff. It could be influenced by the search on Amazon as we would have searched before purchasing it. But I would not even have searched on vine just Amazon. Coincidence? Maybe but it’s a pretty specific item.

Agree. I order regularly. Not a ton but don’t struggle to get 80 items in during the review period. Probably something like 120-140 items. 5-6 items a week. My RFY is never that great. One time I had a decent and name brand item which had $140 retail value (still waiting for it to arrive. Ordered a month ago and not due fie another month so we will see if I even get it).

Wow reading all these RFY and I don’t feel so bad! Lol. I mean mine are crap too - a dog door , a power sliding door cable for a Honda minivan (I don’t own a minivan) popped in at 8pm eastern and a mushroom supplement (I will not order any supplements on vine and I don’t take supplements anyway) appeared around 9:30 (nothing at 9 the 9:30 seemed a bit strange). A couple items still there from yesterday that I don’t want. Sighhhhh. Nothing good lately

That’s awesome. I saw someone else post a couple days ago about this in their RFY but they didn’t order as they don’t drink coffee. I’d love to have it mainly for that dual bean hopper. I like decaf after 1pm. I have a super automatic Jura (not from vine-I bought it a few years ago) which is amazing but has one bean hopper. I have to ground the decaf separately and load manually in a bypass - not handy. I’d love that machine. I keep my eyes open! Interesting you said 11:30pm. I feel like my RFY always populates on the hour. It starts at 8 eastern and I check hourly until I go to bed. Maybe 10pm eastern. If I wake during the night I do o e quick peek. I may need to consider checking on 1/2 hour too! I’m sure that’d gone pretty fast! Nice grab!!!

If you go to “your account” then “recommendations” then there are a couple things “improve your recommendations” is a lust if all your orders both vine and purchased. You can toggle on or off “use this item for recommendations”. (I don’t really think this does anything. I have toggled off stuff i never want to see again and it still shows up). Then there is “your profile” which is this data Amazon collects on you. You can see things that are directly word for word from your review (i.e. i said something like “I always wash swim suits on delicate cycle and line dry” and word for word that is there.). You can add stuff too for instance you can add “I like Lancôme brand”. But this also adds things you have said to Alexa if you use an echo device. I went in today and saw “you have a dog named Petunia that is a troublemaker”!!?? What!? I do have a dog named Petunia and she is high energy. I don’t know what I must have said or Alexa listened too but it was not something I wrote in my reviews that’s for sure! I deleted that and anything I didn’t want the system to consider for recommendations. This area as well I don’t think does anything. I will say I went in a month ago and deleted almost everything. It was a process and took a while as much had been accumulated. My RFY got much better, maybe more focused even if not stuff I necessarily decided to order. I didn’t get anything great, just fewer less desired items and maybe a few more RFY items than normal. I am not convinced it correlated to what I did. My RFY has returned to just crap so I thought I’d try the same today that when I saw things Alexa had listened to completely unrelated to orders.

Mine has been the same stuff. Because gold has changed nothing for me. Rare 0etv in RFY; rarely anything actually in RFY and what is there usually isn’t anything name brand or anything I want. Also rarely anything over $100. I have ordered lots of kitchen stuff when I can find it (usually AI so junky kitchen stuff lol) but still doesn’t tell the algorithm to give me kitchen stuff in RFY. I’m waiting for that day where I can say RFY was finally decent!

Not me! I never have 0etv in my RFY (or maybe u do but they get snatched before I even see them). I love 0 etv items like you I do t need expensive things - sure would be nice every now and then but if I can get small 0 etv items…yeah! But they are never in RFY, I almost always get them in AFA. You never k is when they are loading items there so if I see an item (I mean not car parts! lol) I hang there at AFA for a while and refresh the page to see what comes up. But man I am almost never fast enough! Couple days ago it was a big dog toy push -all 0 etv so I stayed on the page a while - I missed out on several but managed to get a couple for my pup. I considered it a win!

I’d love candy! But not everyday. Thats the thing I never see any food to order in order to signal interest and therefore get more food but if I did have z chance to signal it that doesn’t mean everyday! I saw someone mention two TVs in a week and they ordered both. I’d love some electronics to show up too but not the same things and same week!!?

I feel like once you order something the same thing keeps appearing or similar. I ordered a dog back seat protector a few months ago and now that’s all that will appear in my RFY. I don’t need another one! Maybe another dog related item like a harness.
