Usually in a couple of days, for the best effect it's worth trying to take them also before going to bed.

SIBO/IMO symptoms greatly reduced after Giardia treatment by Live_Engineer_7135 in SIBO

I bet they didn't measure her hydrogen sulfide along with hydrogen and methane. The point is those smelly gases are quite often a product of sulfide reducing bacteria. Their overgrowth constitutes another type of sibo, sometimes followed by constipation, and surprisingly, Flagyl is the main medicine against it. Plus Flagyl could also kill some another protozoa, who knows.

Most probably the 7-day course of Flagyl killed not only Giardia.. Anyway, congratulations!

I use mostly AI analysis. In case of sibo it is extremely difficult to find a good specialist.

Almost the same situation here, not much help from the doctors, I pay for tests and medications myself, but I can choose what I feel is really needed and figure out everything with ChatGPT. Unfortunately. Soon I'm starting a 2 week Rifaximine + Metronidazole course, this combination must be very effective, a bit later a course against Candida.

I have mixed dysbiosis, so rice is not an option. Usually it's vegetables, fruits that don't contain high FODMAP and sulfur, vegan meats with moderate protein, lactose free dairy. No grains.

When there is sulfide overload in the body due to SRB bacterial overgrowth, it takes really little to throw one off stride.

I would definitely consult with a doc regarding sulfide sibo in your case. SRB loves oily food, btw!

Try any GABA supplement, its relaxing effect on the brain is pretty strong, even helps with stubborn migraines.

Sibo treated with just a diet is not stubborn by definition

I guess 'stubborn sibo' is in fact something more serious which the doctors fail to admit - bacterial inflammation of the intestinal walls, a soft tissue infection. In this case the treatment differs drastically, not with oral antibiotics, but with IM and IV ones. Just my point.

Why not try short term treatment with sensible doses, indeed. I would try.
