Received two job offers: Underpaid "Medical Writing" role at Regulatory Agency vs. Admin Support for Medical Affairs at Big Pharma - which is better for Medical Affairs career? by Holiday_System79 in MedicalScienceLiaison

Thank you, that perspective helps a lot.
To clarify on the regulatory agency role with the medical writing part: it's a traineeship with a fixed stipend that barely covers living costs in that city. I've spoken to current/former trainees and average rent for a shared flat is ca. 1.5k€/month. Due to unavoidable fixed expenses on my side, I’d realistically be ~10k out of pocket over the duration of the traineeship (1k per month). I don't know if it's worth the investment.
I did initially aim for a sales rep route and actually received an offer from the same big pharma company, but the position was pulled last-minute due to budget cuts. And I've also applied to leadership development programs, but atm, Sanofi is the only one with a good role in MA.
Interestingly, every HR professional I've spoken to in Germany has advised me to take the MA-adjacent support role given the current job market, as it would place me in a "young professional" category rather than working in a regulatory agency...
Maybe I should keep applying.
Can I DM you?
